so i went to go buy postage for my STD's today (we're doing mostly postcards, but magnets to a few random people) and the only postage they have for postcards at my local post offices is the Hawaiian shirt ones! haha totally not going with my theme, but i guess that's okay haha :) i could have spent an extra 12 cents on each one and gone with the rose stamps, but i though i'd save myself the money haha

    My mom is friends with a woman who owns a Packmail.  She's saving us non-4th of July looking, 4th of July stamps.  They have white fireworks on them that just looks like white sparklers or glitter.  I thought that would be fun for the STDs.  I'll save the wedding stamps for the invites.

    LOL. this is too Funny. I had a similar dilemma a few weeks ago. I sent FI to buy the postage for our STD's and he got Flag postage. It was so funny because I know people would expect to see a wedding related stamp on the STD. My Mom, and coworker got a good laugh about it. Their best advice was to send them around July 4th to show our patriotism. Worked out great! Your Hawaiian ones are symbolic of the Summer season. I'm sure they won't even notice. The invitation postage will be the ones to worry about. :)

    LOL!!  I had the same issue for the STD's. ...going to different post offices to find the right one.  My FI says the receiver won't even notice!!  LOL

    Yeah, we figured that our invitees would just rip open the envelope and that it wouldn't matter in the long run.  We're planning on saving the wedding postage for the invitations.

    If you can't find wedding stamps or any other design, you can order them online from the USPS website. Pricing is the same, and the only extra charge is a dollar or two for shipping. Apparently you can also make your own customized (legit!) stamps through Zazzle, but there is a pretty big upcharge (something like an extra $0.20-0.50).
