What song are you (or did you) walk down the aisle to?

Hi Ladies,

I'd love to hear what your walking down the aisle song is or was. I'm so torn right now between having something traditional or something modern.

I really like the idea of a modern song played on an acoustic guitar or ukulele, but our wedding theme is more on the romantic/traditional side and I'm just not sure that will fit with everything else. But at the same time, Canon in D just does not seem fitting given the location.

I need some inspiration!

We used our ipod for the whole thing and did Vitamin String Quartet's version of Cold Play's Fix You.

Similar to Alyson, we did VSQ - Hey There Delilah (and yes, I lived in NYC).

The Hawaii brides have picked some beautiful music.  A favorite I recently heard and love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ4SNggdxcY

Also, anything on the ukelele sounds laid back without being too serious for the island.  For example:

You will be surprised.  Somehow, romantic and classical fits in just fine in Hawaii.  It's still a wedding after all.

Thanks to carrie on this board, I'm pretty sure I'm going with this ukulele version of Canon in D...I love it, and if you wait, it picks up a minute into it and its fun (id like to use that after we say I do). Its on itunes I think too.

My friend walked down to an acoustic version of "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. Pretty...

We had Jamie Lawrence for our ceremony musician and he was fantastic!!  I heard his version of 'Maunaleo' and had it stuck in my head for months, it is so beautiful and I knew I had to have him singing it as I walked down the aisle.  After watching his youtube clip for about 9 months it was surreal to see him in person singing at my wedding :)

Oh and more thing, I don't know how you are about lyrics but I get really analytical about if the lyrics match the occassion so having a song in Hawaiian was nice because it doesn't really matter what the lyrics are as long as it sounds pretty :D

Mine was somewhere over the rainbow.  I didn't really care what I walked down to.  Weird since I was OCD on everything else.  As long as it was Hawaiian and pretty, I didn't care.

Armstrong's "Wonderful World." Love the song and it fit our moods that day, but, to be honest, I didn't hear a word of it...

I love that someone found inspiration in some of my ideas - that's so cool!<div>
</div><div>I actually walked to Jamie Lawrence singing Maunaleo.  He doesn't play ukelele or I might have gone with the Canon in D on ukelele.  :)</div><div>

Jason Mraz - I'm Yours.  Our Musician sang it and played it on the guitar.
