Workout Accountability: Monday

Morning, Ladies!

We did the plyo workout in the pool yesterday morning, which was a lot of fun and gave my knee a bit of much needed rest.  This morning was cardio x and tonight is back, biceps, and abs.
Eating wasn't terrible, either.  I had a few extra carb and sweet splurges, but didn't go overboard.  Sadly, some bloating put me up on the scale this morning, which is not how I wanted to start the week.  We did measurements, though (which was the quick bloating indicator) and my thighs and arms both went down a bit in the last 15 days, so that was good news.
Eating is going to have to be really good this week, because we have a party on Wed with a menu that sounds amazing, and we're going to NYC next weekend on a foodie-tour with my friend. I have off of work from Wed through to the weekend, so at least there will be plenty of time for extra working out!

How are you all doing this morning?

Re: Workout Accountability: Monday

  • My eating was mediocre this weekend. Some meals were healthy, some weren't. I didn't do any formal workouts per say this weekend either. But FI and I started deck construction Saturday, so I think two days of physical manual labor should suffice. We're build a 24'x12' wrap around deck on our house. Saturday we bought all the post and had to move, load and unload them ourselves. They weighed about 200lbs each and we bought 16. Yesterday we spent the whole day digging the post holes by hand with post diggers. Codes is coming at 9am to give us the go ahead to move forward. My upper body is so sore I can barely move today. Our yard is all clay and gravel under the grass and all 16 holes had to 42" deep. We went to bed at like 8:15 last night because we were exhausted from digging all day.

This morning I went to go for a run. I planned on doing my 1.87 mile up hill run and maybe transitioning into my 5k loop if I was feeling good by the turn. But 2 minutes in I got the trots and cut it short at about 1.1 miles. I plan to walk my dog to make up the difference tonight.

  • I can actually say I had a structured workout at the gym yesterday!!  I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and a half hour of weights.  I could tell I hadn't lifted in a while.  I felt weak.  But it felt good to work my body.  We also walked to and from the gym so that was good too.  Eating was good yesteday, but not so much Saturday.  Saturday was my shower and I indulged a little bit too much.  Oh well, back on track this week.  I need to get undergarments for my dress this weekend, so I want to be super good this week.

  • Weekend was pretty good. I took Friday and Sunday down. Friday because I'd been go go go most of the week and I had a long workout planned for Saturday. Sunday was down due to not being able to get to the pool till late and my back being a hot mess, I probably should have done pilates but by the time kidlet went down I was just exhuasted. Saturday's workout was a 25 mile ride on the bike followed by a 3 mile run :).

Today will be a 40-45 minute elliptical run after work to prep for a long run wenesday morning.

  • My eating was great on Saturday and not so great on Sunday. I got work outs in both days. Saturday I did weights, shoulders, arms, and chest for about 40 minutes then I ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill. Sunday I did back and abs for about 30 mins then ran a little over 3 miles. Sunday we went to a picnic at FI's grandma's and I had 2 drinks even though I promised myself I was only going to have 1. I know this sounds dumb, but it's so hard when everyone else is drinking and you're like, pass the water please. Then I ate dessert which was also stupid. I feel really bloated this morning, blegh.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

  • Good morning ladies! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend :)

Friday I got to the gym for a quick workout before dinner with a friend. I only had time to do 20 minutes of stairmaster and 30 minutes of elliptical before I had to leave though - no time for weightlifting :(...and dinner with my friend turned into drinks with my friend. I had more to drink than I have in a loooong time (2 beers and 3 glasses of wine), so I was drunk AND it pushed me over my calories for the day by like 200.

Saturday I wasn't feeling so hot because of the drinking from Friday...but I made myself do 60 minutes of cardio on my bike. The friend I got drunk with the night before came over and we went out to dinner - I was bad and had fries with my sandwich. We then went shopping at the mall - I ended up finding the PERFECT rehearsal dress (I wasn't even looking!) AND I got to buy it a size down! We tried to walk around a little more to help burn off our dinner, then she studied at my apartment while I worked on DIY stuff for the wedding. At like 11:30 I realized that I hadn't yet hit 10,000 steps for the day so we went on a quick mile walk so I could hit my goal.

Sunday I was feeling really bloated and fat, but the scale dropped 2.6 lbs! I guess drinking and eating fries is all I needed to do to get over my plateau (or make my body keep guessing lol). I also got 35 minutes of weightlifting in at the gym and 20 minutes of stairmaster, 30 minutes of elliptical.

I'm getting really bored with gym equipment, so I think I'm going to try to go to one of my gym's classes this week (Les Mills Bodypump - anyone tried it?).

  • I did well on Saturday but Sunday I was so busy at work I didn't have time to heat things up, but I still ate all my snacks and had the rest when I got home at 8. I switched my breakfast carb to oatmeal instead if bread so if anyone has oatmeal tips, I'll take em. I've never had it in my life until yesterday. I've already figured out that I like it thick. This morning we did legs and then I went for a 2 mile jog.
  • @ZeroOrchestra - I eat oatmeal for breakfast alot. I suggest making it yourself with plain oats and not from a package. I like to put banana in mine as a sweetener instead of sugar to keep the calories down and also add a bit of cinnamon. I find that a very filling breakfast. I have also tried it with canned fruit in it's juice as a sweetner - just be sure to buy the fruit in pear juice and not corn syrup. I think it tastes better and less calories.

Last week was so busy a barely had time to sign on. Weigh-in tonight so we'll see how I did.

FI loves the chinese buffet and we needed a quick meal on the way to meet with a photographer (Damn. Every time I think I have a reasonable budget for something and should be able to afford something a bit higher end, I discover my budget is average to below average - those albums cost a fortune!). I think I did pretty well, considering it was a buffet. I had mainly sushi and had the hibachi guy make me a big plate of shrimp and veggies. I was also sure to stop as soon as a fetl full and did not over do it.

I know I went over on Saturday - fireworks party with fruity rum drink. Sunday I did OK thanks to alot of manual labor.

Hoping this week will be a bit less crazy with more time to plan meals and less stress to make me want to eat, eat, eat!

  • Eating wasn't great, but not too bad either this weekend. FI and I went for some walks around outdoor malls this weekend, but I didn't do intense workouts. Knee has been bothering me. Plan is to do my C25K an 6 Week 6 Pack (Jillian Michaels DVD) tonight. However, FI's car wouldn't start this morning. He recharged his battery, got about halfway to work, and his car died again. So...not sure what tonight will entail. The joys of the unexpected!

  • Happy Monday.  Went out of town for a much needed weekend away with FI.   I splurged a little on Saturday with champagne and sweets but we also did a 5 mile hike that afternoon so I was actually calorie neutral.

Sunday we did a 5 mile bike ride along the ocean then sat in the car for 3.5 hours driving home.

Today was a meeting with my personal trainer.  She switched the workout up some so I may be a bit sore tomorrow.   I was also very pleased that another trainer commented on the weight I've lost so far.

  • Hey ladies!

Still the weekend here in Canada! My eating has been decent this weekend. I made chicken enchiladas on Saturday (skinny taste) that were SO good. Did not feel at all like they were the low calorie/low fat version. I need to eat more fruit & veg, as that's been lacking a bit over the last week or so (still have been eating them, but not as much as I should) - so that's my goal for today & the rest of this week.

I am still in just a fabulous mood about weight loss. I really feel like what I'm doing is paying off - and so much of that is having you guys as a support network! I love you all :)

One of my BFFs yesterday, who I have envied since I was 12 because of her frame (she's 5'8 and 115 pounds and a twin, they both look like models and try to gain weight by eating mcdonald's like 4 times a week) told me that I'm looking so skinny now! Made me feel good. Ps - I know I will not get down to their weight - I would be dead - but the fact that she noticed that I'm shrinking is pleasing. Also this week I finally weighed in at a number less than FI's dad! I have been having a secret (in my head) competition with him, to weigh in less than him... I always felt it was wrong to weigh more than a grown man who is 6 inches taller than me. BUT NOW I DON'T! Yeehaw! Of course I would never even bring it up to him because I don't want to rub that in his face in any sort of way. So don't worry about that!

Today I'm planning on running. And walking the dog. And eating like a champion of healthiness. See ya later!

  • Hi Ladies!

Overall I had a good weekend. Saturday was "treat day" so I ate well all day - and then FI and I went to our favorite neighborhood bar for dinner. I had the buffalo shrimp salad w/ 1 breadstick (not too bad -but the shrimp was deep friend and of course the breadstick wasn't the healthiest). After dinner we grabbed some Pinkberry and I topped mine with fruit. Although "treats" I felt I stayed pretty healthy. Now - it is back to eating on point for a few days before I get to incorporate another treat.

Regarding workouts, I took Saturday off but burned 750+ calories by running for about 40 minutes outside / walking 20 minutes / and then incorporating some lunges, push-ups, squats, etc into the workout. I stayed around 1400 calories yesterday.

I decided to weigh myself this morning even though I haven't got the "OK" from the trainer - and I am down 1.6 lbs in a week. Hopefully I can continue at least a pound/week.
  • I did the insanity fit test today and i didnt let myself see my old results so that way I just did as much as I could do without trying to beat a certain number and was really happy at how much I improved!

It also weighted and measured and took another progress picture and am so excited that can already see a difference in the pcitures from only a month ago.

I was also supposed to go rock climbing this afternoon before starting summer school but looks like my climbing partner cant go after all which sucks siince was really looking forward to it and dont know anyone else who would be down.

  • Cheat weekend for me... They only happen the weekend after making weight class in a weightlifting meet.  So I ate anything and everything in sight this weekend! LOL

However, did a Crossfit WOD on Saturday morning and then Handstand Pushup and Snatch practice.  Sunday was off.

Today I start at my new "home" (LOL - Gym).  Its a strength and conditioning gym... so hopefully they'll make me strong as $%!*^!  I get my new programming this afternoon.  I'm excited cause I have NO IDEA what it's going to be.

We're about 2.5 months out from the wedding and I feel good...
