  I personally wouldn't drive longer than 45 minutes between ceremony & reception.
  What part of the Hudson Valley are you looking in?
  
  Have you looked into the Poughkeepsie Grand & Anthony's Pier Nine?

  We had our ceremony at St Johns in Mahopac and I researched over 70 venues (on paper and online) and visited 40 of them.
  
  Trust me - there's a lot out there!
  
  Like you, we were aiming to keep at the 45 minute max between venues. So I wanted to see all that were in that time range. Although some of the ones I looked at in Poughkeepsie were hitting the about an hour point. As it turned out, we selected a place that was 5 minutes from the church.
  
  As pp said, we can all be more help if we knew where your starting point was.

  Where is your ceremony going to be ??  At least what town .  I use google sometimes with the zip code when i'm looking for a store .  I don't know if this method would work for a wedding venue though.
  
  Example I'm getting married at the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac , their zip code is 10541 .    
  
  Lets pretend this is the zip code i live in .  I wouild go to google and type   "wedding venue 10541" and see what pops up

  My curiosity got the best of me ,  I just tested the method and it work
   (I though it would)
  
  You can use zip code or town you are looking for ,  Also there is a magazine called Wedding Sites and Services ,  It has pictures & description of wedding venues. you can find it at barnes & nobles , or probably any bookstore , maybe even in the supermarket .  Good Luck !

  Our church was in Mahopac (and, as it turned out, so ended up our reception venue) but if you start there and use a 45 minute drive as your limit, there are a TON of places! And I didn't even look across the river!
