Thanksgiving dinner?

Thanksgiving is probably the favorite holiday for my fiance and I. We always look forward to the food and family. I thought that that seemed fitting for our wedding. So we are going to do a Thanksgiving type dinner. So, I was wondering, what do you eat on Thanksgiving besides Turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy? I'd love to see all the differences and possibly find things to add to the menu.

Re: Thanksgiving dinner?

  • What a great idea!!

For us: homemade cranberry sauce, dressing patties (easy to eat for individual plates!), corn pudding (a good balance of sweet and savory with black pepper - delicious!), fruit salad (made with coconut, yogurt and marshmallows), I prefer sweet potato souffle to yams and a cousin brings a dressing made with a maple sausage.  Though I very rarely eat pork, I admit the sweet/savory aspect is good.

Oh, and deep fried turkey - easy, fast, and beyond delectable!

Good luck!  Let us know what you decide to have!
