Dessert Reception

So, REEEEEEEALLY thinking about having a dessert reception for the wedding-- considering its a Sunday evening, on a school night. Most people have a big family dinner on Sundays and will probably have jjuuusstttt enough room to have a little something else before heading home and winding down for the evening.

Yes, of course there'll be to-go -boxes.

Anyqho :) I'm wondering, if there's anybody out there in Atlanta that's had a full dessert reception? And if so. how much did you spend on it? What was the price range? We're not talking about a candy bar-- I mean a full, all-out dessert reception!

Thanks in advance!

What time is your wedding?  I think this is a great idea if you can time it right!

Yes, it can be wonderfully done. Just make sure it is timed right and that your guests are aware that it is a dessert reception. You should actually put on the invitation, "Dessert Reception To Follow" or something to that effect. I've seen it done really well but I've also seen it done not so well - where guests were essentially like, "where's the food?" As for cost, I have no idea. Maybe some of the other gals can help you out there. Best of luck to you!

Well, the wedding is going to be at 5, and since its a Sunday, it actually works out because a lot of people go eat dinner right after church on Sundays. By the time they get to the wedding they'll still have their early Sunday dinners on the tummy and a milkshake/cookie combo in their hand!

I think that is a fabulous idea!  My boss told me this morning about a reception his wife attended last night where sushi, drinks and dessert were the items served.  It started at 8:30pm, and she said it was so much fun.

    Go For It!!!
