Easy recipe and yankee swap?

Next week we have another holiday party at work, where we are supposed to bring food and a gift for the yankee swap. I don't want to make something too complicated, and most of the things I cook are too time consuming for this I think.

Does anyone have any easy recipes they like? Also any ideas for the swap? The gift isn't supposed to be anymore than $5. Thanks

What type of food? I find crockpot sweedish meatballs always go over well. Plus they don't involve a lot of work.

What about a set of holiday dish towels? Most stores have a pack of 2 or 3 for around $5.

That always is a big hit with our gatherings and it's pretty easy

As far as a gift. . . Chocolate is always good (or Candy). Or maybe buy a funny movie at walmart in the dollar section and stick a box of candy with a bag of popcorn with it?

As far as the gift, do you have a Homegoods or TJ Maxx near you? You can get quirky little things for under $5 there. They have cool Fred Segal housewares like this for around $5. I wouldn't mind getting stuff like that at a swap.

Wacky Crackers: a box of crackers, 2 ranch dressing packs, 1/3 cup olive oil, 2\3s cup of cannola oil and red chili flakes to taste. Mix them all together and you're done. They are so good and I always get compliments.
