I didn't realize people would be so generous at our wedding showers and now I don't have many gifts remaining on our registry.  I don't really want to register for more stuff, because I feel like I would end up returning it anyway.  If I run out of things to purchase, will people just give money?  Or do I need to register for more stuff?  Thoughts?  Thanks!

    I wouldn't register for stuff you don't need/want.  People will probably just give money.  I only buy off the registry for the shower and give money at the wedding.  Money is way easier to transport from a wedding than gifts!

    I'm in the same boat. We thought about it, but we really don't need anything else. A lot of our guests are from out of town so we expect gift cards or cash anyway. We've decided not to add anything else...

    Around here people don't bring physical gifts to weddings, they bring money.  So don't bother registering for stuff you don't need.

    I agree with pp's.  I wouldn't add anything you don't need.  It's wasting your time by having to go back and return something to only have to exchange for another item.  Most people do get gifts for showers and give money for weddings but it's still pretty common to get gifts on your wedding day in this area.

    I mostly agree, I just know most of my guests would prefer to give gifts than money. I think it depends on what your guests are like. If they prefer to give gifts, it might be better to register for more so you can return things you don't want. If they purchase a gift off registry and don't give you a receipt you may just be stuck with it.
