Very different than what I was originally going for, but I love it! It's so light, breathable and the built in corset is amazing.

I find it kind of funny that you and I both were originally going to have someone make the dress for us but ended up finding one and buying it anyway :P

WOW! It's gorgeous. You know, I think you did the right thing. It seems like it would have been really difficult for a friend to make this dress with all of the detail & rouching & to still make it fall right...satin can be pretty unforgiving if not perfectly tailored.

Thanks again, ladies. I am really happy with the dress and deciding to buy one instead of having my mom make it. My mom thinks the dress is beautiful, too and has no problem with not making it. I was worried about the stress it would create for both of us and between us if she was to make it and she agreed I made the right choice. Besides, she's still going to make my garter, veil, wedding banner and the cloth bags for our destination bags.

I actually didn't try the dress on with the sleeves. You can remove them and the dress becomes strapless. I think it looks great with the sleeves, too and am excited to try the dress on with them on. I like the idea of having an option, too. Maybe I'll wear the straps in the morning and then take them off in the afternoon.
