veil question

Hi Everyone,

This is the link to my dress

http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/18/282

At first I wasn't going to do a veil but the more I think about it I would like to wear one.  I'm really undecided on the length. When I tried on the dress the lady at the store put on an elbow tip veil and it looked nice but I do love the dramatic effect of a cathedral length veil.  I'm wondering if with the length of the train on the dress a cathedral veil would be a bit much.

Any advice?

Re: veil question

  • I think a cathedral veil would look really pretty with that dress as long as it was pretty basic and plain. Or you could always get 2 veils and switch them out for the ceremony & reception and pictures. Veils can be really expensive, so I am not sure if that is an option for you.

I am a fan of shorter veils, either elbow or finger tip length, but I think you any of them would look nice with that dress.
  • I would be concerned about the veil catching on the beading of the dress.  A friend of mine had that problem and ripped her veil pre-ceremony :-(  I'd probably look at a fingertip length veil.
  • Thanks.  I really appreciate the ideas.  I would never have thought of the beads getting caught on the veil.

<div>My friend didn't either.  She also had problems with it sticking to her shoes and catching on the carpet of the church.  Her dress had some beading underneath, on the hem, which was the reason for the shoe and carpet issues.</div><div>
</div><div>You could always try it in the salon and see if you think it will be a problem.  Like Missy said, I think a very simple cathedral veil would be beautiful with it, as long as it doesn't catch on the beading.</div>
  • I think a long veil would be beautiful!  I myself am going with an elbow length I believe, but with that dress you can get away with a cathedral one.  I would make sure it was sheer so you could see the floor passing under you as you walk and like the other girls said make sure it won't catch on your dress beading!
