FFF

Busy busy busy! AHHH 8 days!
And some of FI's family is coming in on Sunday so I really really need to get stuff done before then.
Such a fun time!

Re: FFF

  • It is a fun time, Carrie - enjoy!

I don't know what to flame yet today, but I am SO glad it's Friday.  I will probably work late and go in over the weekend, but overtime isn't such a bad thing.

We don't really have any fun plans yet this weekend -- what's everyone else going to be up to?

  • Wait I forgot to flame.
It's none of my business, but I flame FMIL. FI's brother's wife isn't coming to the wedding, but their 4 year old daughter is one of our flower girls. Her hair has never been cut. FMIL is planning to cut her hair without telling her DIL when she comes in for the wedding because she doesn't like the way it looks. Granted it is pretty stringy, but I told both moms of the FG's that I didn't care what their hair looked like, and I meant it.
My FSIL is going to be LIVID when that little girl gets back to CA.
  • If my MIL decided to cut my child's hair without asking me or H, I would be PISSED.  Oh dear god.
Anniversary Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • I'm like, why do you even tell me these things? Do you WANT to be involved in my future children's life??
Gawd she's cray, but at least she doesn't hate me like she does this DIL. And the OTHER DIL is older and smart enough to just stay away and keep her kids at a distance. I think I will go hang out with her....

OHMYGOSH. First hair cut? That's kind of a big deal, I would say. Yikes. Also, I can't believe your wedding is SO close! Wheeee!!!

I flame my stupidity for thinking that WeddingPaperDivas had forgotten to deliver our invite samples. I was assuming they would show up in the package box in our cluster of mailboxes, but no. It turns out that they were sitting on our front porch for almost an entire week, which makes me almost an entire week behind on ordering the real ones. Express delivery FTW!

  • whoa that's crazy! i'd be completely upset about that if i were here DIL.

ejheart - I'm glad the invitations were still there and not damaged or anything!! :-)

I flame my FMIL for pissing FI off. He is so upset with her after this week, I've never seen him like this.
  • WOW Carrie.  Has your FI or FBIL talked to her?  Because that seriously crosses the line.

Wethinks they are in the middle of getting a divorce, so FI said he knew it was crossing the line, but he was going to stay out of it, and I have to respect that, since it's his mom and brother. I think there may be a lot more going on than we know. And selfishly, the last thing I want is more drama with FMIL. I don't want her to end up hating me and then chopping my future children's hair.
And FSIL said she's not coming to the wedding for 'work' but it really doesn't add up, since her work schedule has always been super flexible in the past. I don't fault her for it, who knows what is going on with them and I'm not going to judge her if she is trying to prevent a volatile situation.
    It's a mess.

  • I have no flames today, I'm hoping it will be a great day. Both of my daughter's are here and we are going bridesmaid dress shopping. I told them they could get different dresses as long as they are the same color, length, and fabric. Looking forward to girl time.
Carrie- that is crazy about FMIL getting the flower girls haircut. That is seriously crossing the line and divorce or no that's just plain wrong. If they're not getting divorced this might be what breaks the camels back. My former in-laws were crazy and if my MIL would have done that she would never see the kids again.

Tired head. Those conversations just get cumbersome and entrench people in their original views. They seldom open people's eyes and enlighten them.

Is this the "gay marriage is the equivalent of being allowed to marry your dog" thing? I grossly misquoted that ... They were talking about it on E this morning.

  • I flame that I started Weight Watchers online last Sunday and was doing great keeping track...BUT yesterday was FI's birthday so we are going out to eat the next three days to celebrate with different people.  I don't think my willpower is that strong.

My mom did weight watchers for years and lost 30 pounds! Now she's down to 125 the little beast!
Try to eat good for two meals, and then splurge on the third! You can't avoid birthdays and celebrations, they are a part of life and you should enjoy them! Don't feel guilty for having a life... that's what WW preaches!
  • Well we had a successful morning shopping for bridesmaid dresses and they actually agreed on one. So in a couple months I will go back in and order them.
This is the one they chose but we'll get it in Amethyst.

  • We went at lunch to look at a potential rental house and the tenants had it deadbolted and we couldn't get in!!
I loved the neighborhood and the backyard and was ready to write a check if I liked the inside. It was perfect for everything I could see.
    GRRRRRRRR.
I really don't want to be dealing with all this right now.

Yes, we randomly found a realtor while searching through Craigslist, and she's set us up on a portal. If you PM me I can give you her email and you can ask her to set you up.

  • Sorry I'm a bit late to the flame party. I flame my FI and his 102 fever that is making him grumpy and argumentative. That with my PMS isn't working well together.

I still feel like I have so much to get done before the wedding. Maybe if I started a list of everything that would help because I'm drowning. I think what I need to get done first is select my music which I should have done a week ago. Oops.
