Wedding Guest attire question

Hi Ladies! My cousin is getting married on Saturday afternoon in New Hampshire (projected forecast 33*). I have no idea what to wear to a winter-afternoon wedding.

My thoughts:
*black knit long sleeved dress --actually was my holiday siggy if anyone remembers. But is a shortish black dress wayyy inappropriate for afternoon? I thought the knit and long sleeve helped make it wintry.

*more casual black dress and wear a bright coral colored sweater shrug all day

*turquoise wool pencil skirt and some sort of top--but im sort of anti separates for a wedding.

H will be in a suit and it's a plated meal, open bar....help me!

Re: Wedding Guest attire question

  • I pick the second one. I'm just thinking it would look nice with the suit and the coral shrug will brighten it up for afternoon. I got insulted on my wardrobe by a girl I graduated with and haven't seen in 4 years yesterday though so IDK if you should trust my opinion lol.

  • I think I like the second option best. But I vote you take a pic of yourself in each outfit to show us ;)

haha Sammy, I still trust your opinion!! Yeah Binxy, I XP'd on Sept and they are sort of swaying coral shrug too. I have one of the option one already. Perhaps I'll get H to take a pic of the coral sweater minus my just-out-of-the-shower head.

  • If you are concerned about the first dress being too short, can you wear sheer black tights?

  • Coral sweater, can be unbottoned I just threw it on.

Yeah I think I would have anyway, I'm just concerned it looks too "Evening" and everyone else is going to be in Sunday church-wear. If that makes sense...

  • I love the first dress, but agree that it's a bit dressy for an afternoon wedding.

I also love the coral sweater though so I say definitely go for that since it's very appropriate.  I think I might like it unbuttoned better, but it's hard to know.  EIther way it will look great, it just looks like it's uncomfortable or something buttoned all the way.  Maybe because you're headless though!

Haha yeah the headless is a bit of an odd angle. But I think I'll definitely unbotton it. I was playing around with it after and it's nicer when it's open.
