So what's the big gift(s) this year...

That you are getting FI or DH?

That you asked for/ are hoping and wishing for?

Bonus question:
What's the one present, giving or hope to get, that will have the most meaning?  Can be cheap or expensive, big or little.  Why does it mean so much to you?

I really didn't want anything this year... I'm not a big jewelry person and he's gotten me something diamond for every occasion we've celebrated together. My dilemma is that I've already figured out what I'm getting him for a wedding present, but he keep saying he's gonna go get it now. *ggrrrr!*

He's getting a bunch of Steelers stuff, but I know it's not enough. I'm still working on getting him something a little more meaningful.

I got Gzilla a new GPS.  We have a bad track record with GPSes.  My dad gave us one that he won at a golf tournament... and the maps were 5 years old.  They wanted us to pay $100 to update the maps (uh, no.) and then it stopped recognizing the plug into the car.  So we got another one.  That one got stolen.  So on cyber Monday I checked out some deals... and found a REALLY nice TomTom for $80.  Lifetime maps... it tells you what street you're turning on instead of "in point 4 miles turn left"  AND it even tells you what lane you need to be in!!  How fancy is that!  I'm really excited.

I didn't really ask a lot from Gzilla.  There's a new perfume that I really want... so I'm probably getting that.  It's kate spade's Twirl.  It smells like party.

Bonus question... that one's hard.  Normally we try to come up with something that will make my mom cry.  Last year, my brother, sister, and I all pitched in and got her a mother's ring with all of our birthstones.  For her birthday a few months ago, my brother and Gzilla and I all pitched in to get her a new computer.  But this year... I can't afford anything that big. I don't know what to do.

Recovering-I've had a TomTom for a few years now and LOVE IT!!

That you are getting FI or DH?  I bought him a piece of the basketball court from the Spectrum, actual seats from the Spectrum, and basketball tickets plus a few stocking stuffers,

That you asked for/ are hoping and wishing for?  A new watch or things for our house.

I told FI I really want to have a Musical Marathon with him.  We'll watch Mulan Rouge, Chicago, Caberet, Grease, and anything else I can think of that I want to see.  I love musicals (I danced for 17 years as a kid!) and FI wants nothing to do with it.  It would mean a lot to me because he its something he really doesn't care about.  And its free since I have all the moves already!!

Aaaah I love that idea!!!   I couldn't pay Gzilla to do that.  You should definitely add Dream Girls to that list.  Jennifer Hudson is AH-MAZING in that.  I had RENT (the final stage performance on DVD, not the movie), but I let a friend borrow it... and I think she thought I gave it to her... so I never got it back. :(

My favorite musical ever? The made for tv movie musical of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland starring everyone from the 80s ever!  It's so bad it's fabulous.

Gift for FI:  I bought him a new computer.  He's been using my really old one and it is on it's last leg.  I think he will really love it and he deserves to be spoiled for once.  He is constantly spoiling me with wonderful gifts.

I didn't really ask for anything this year, but FI always does a wonderful job at finding things that I love.  He remembers things that I have mentioned over the past year.  It's great.

For DH:  He is getting an XBOX360, which he knows about (heck, he even went and bought it himself on Black Friday).  It's a combo wedding/Christmas gift (because it was over the limit that we agreed to, so we came up with this little deal).  He isn't allowed to open it until Christmas, though!

For me:  Well, I asked for a Nook, though I don't know if I will get one or not.  I also asked for a Black Leather Coach purse (I don't have a nice black leather purse, and there have been too many incidences in this past year where I needed one), and for a new pair of UGGS (because of my nerve damage disease in my leg, these are pretty much the only thing I wear in the winter- they are the only thing that will keep my leg warm enough).  The two pairs I have are over 3 years old, and worn out (I wear them every day!).

The most special gift:  For DH, I got him the Lenox "Our First Christmas Together 2010" (silver) ornament.  We only do ornaments that have meaning- you can pick an ornament off the tree and ask us why it is on there, and we can tell you the significance and meaning behind every single one.  So this one will mean quite a bit to both of us, obviously, since it's our first Christmas married!  (I just hope he doesn't buy the same one for me!)

For me, I asked for a nice nativity set (either Jim Shore or Willow Tree).  Growing up, our Nativity was at the center of Advent and Christmas- both at home and at church.  We were allowed to place one piece in the creche each week leading up to Christmas, in a specific order (animals, shepherds, Joseph, Mary), and while we were allowed to play with it, we were not allowed to add pieces, and Baby Jesus DID NOT go in until Christmas Eve (well, Christmas Day, since we got home over Midnight).  Actually, it's now a pet peeve of mine- I cannot stand seeing a nativity set, small or large, indoors or out, that has Baby Jesus in it before Christmas.  He isn't born yet!  (my family laughs every time we drive by a lit up nativity scene at me).
But we don't have one of our own, and Brian knows how important it is to me.  I think I am getting it- he told me there is one gift I can open a week early!
I actually can't wait to have kids-  Fisher Price makes a Little People Nativity Set (my nieces/nephew have it, as do friends kids), and I love it.  I love the idea that kids can play with the nativity.  I grew up doing that, and I never understood "fragile" nativities- in my mind, if you can't play with it, then how are they going to learn the Christmas story?  I even told Brian that I wouldn't mind having the Fisher Price set before we have kids!  (and for that set, I think I could let them play with all the pieces...except Baby Jesus!).

That you are getting FI or DH?
I bought a laptop for DH this year.  I put away $20 every week since January in order to save up for it.  He's in desperate need of a new one and we've been talking about buying one soon, but our plans were put on hold when we had to unexpectedly buy a new car last week.  I think he'll be really surprised.

That you asked for/ are hoping and wishing for?
I actually didn't ask for any gifts this year.  I couldn't come up with anything I wanted.  It's weird to say but with having the bridal shower, buying the new house, getting married, and my birthday all between Aug-Nov, I've gotten so much new stuff.  I'm kind of tired of presents (that'll pass quickly!).  However, DH just told me last night that he thinks he knows what he's getting me and assures me it'll be the best Christmas gift he's ever given me.

What's the one present, giving or hope to get, that will have the most meaning?  Can be cheap or expensive, big or little.  Why does it mean so much to you?
There's nothing really that I can think of.  Other than the wedding albums we made for our parents.  I designed the pages in Photoshop and uploaded them to MPix.  We haven't gotten them back yet but should have them by the end of this week or the beginning of next week.  I don't think our parents are expecting them and I think they'll really be touched.

Besides all the new footwear(DH: Dr. Martens and workboots and Me: Suede knee high boots, sneakers and docs for me too) we've already bought ourselves bc our shoe collection needed updating...DH will be suprised with a new 25th anniversary red edition Wii and I think he's getting me more pandora charms.

I will also be suprising DH with A our first christmas ornament. Personalization Mall has a cute cake one that can be personalized. We were just talking last night about how none of our walmart ornaments have any meaning.

So..being the wonderful girlfriend...well fiance...that I am, FI is getting partial season tickets to the Phillies.  And the best part is, he has no idea!  I've been saving my money since April to be able to afford them...I cant wait to see his face!

Me, on the other hand, I peeked and found my present and its pretty much the greatest gift ever!  Its from my future stepson, who is 4, and he is so excited to give it to me because he keeps telling me it will make me smile forever.  Well I accidentally found the receipt but it made me smile immediately and I laugh everytime I think about it.  My favorite christmas song is "I want a hippopotmus for christmas" and everytime he asked me what I wanted, I told him a hippo.  And I would name it Frank and he would sleep in my stepsons bath tub when he wasnt with us.  His response was "no..hippos are mean and my dad will kill it with a nerf gun."  Well...I have a pandora bracelet and my FI got me a hippo charm, clearly from my stepson.  I am so excited to have him give it to me.  Hes the most thoughtful and generous little kid and he's more excited to give me and my FI our presents than see what santa brought him (which is a new Wii and more Thomas the Train than I even knew existed!)  Hope everyone has a great holiday and a safe New Years!
