August 2012 Weddings

Colstj1

i know this may be a little weird because I'm not an August bride but, I've been lurking on this board to see all the wedding pictures!

I just saw your post about having a photography session at Secrets Maroma. We're honeymooning there in October and I was considering doing the same thing. Can you give me any details about it, like how you booked it, how long a session us etc.?

Thanks! And your wedding looked amazing!

  • Yes! :) It was an amazing resort! I am sure you will love everything about it! One word of advice (if you didn't already know) tipping is already included so no need to bring extra cash just for tipping. Things such as dinner on the beach or massages etc do cost money though and that can all be added to your room bill that you pay at the end.

Now onto the photo session. It is free to set up and I would set up an appointment with them on one of your first days. There is a room called "adventure photos" up near the restaraunts in the main building where you set up an appointment. You just let them know whether you was morning, afternoon or evening. (I recomend around 9:30, which is what we did, so your not dying sweating but you still have great coloring!) Then you get one photo for free and the rest of $15 per photo. When you do purchase a photo you get the disc with the license to pring and do whatever you want with them. The session lasts 45minutes and they are amazing at what they do. But if you have any ideas of your own (like how we did one in our swim up pool) let them know and they can make your photos more unique! :)

Let me know if you have any further questions about the resort and/or excursions. :)
  • Thank you so much! We are also staying in a swim out room, so I may have to steal that picture idea! I had no idea tipping was included. We can't wait. The reviews look amazing!

  • Yes tipping is included. And we noticed that some people would tip in small amounts to get more service at the pools and beach, but we never had a problem with service not coming by. And I would love to see it if you get that same picture taken. :) That would be fun! And you will LOVE having a swim up! We would jump in there every morning and drink our coffee to start the day.
