Restaurant Reception

FI and I are interested in hosting our recpetion at a restaurant instead of having a traditional reception hall reception. Do you know of any restersaunts in the West Hartford/Hartford area that will accomodate this? We will have somewhere around 75 ppl (we're still finalizing our guest list). Also, has anyone done this? DId you enjoy it? Thanks for the help!

Maybe the pond house would be worth looking in to... Although they're a little banquety, I suppose... but it's in west hartford....

Their food is very good, and 75 would probably be nice in there!

I agree with this. Gorgeous room and would fit 75 nicely.

Mill on the River in South Windsor (I think, might be Manchester) is another place that's not REALLY banquetish, but there is a room downstairs.  FI's cousin got married there this summer and had I think 80-85 guests.  I don't think it's super expensive and the food was good.

I suppose it all depends on your budget. I saw the other day Bricco Trattoria in Glastonbury was closed to the public for a private event, though I would imagine to do something like that would cost quite a bit of money!

A friend of mine had her reception recently at Max Downtown. I think they had around 100 people.

I think Mill on the River has a minimum (at least for the upstairs room). My fiance's sister's first marriage was at MotR, and his parents paid for the extra plates to meet the minimum. And then the extras we're boxed up and we ate wedding food for like a week. Delish.

    Georgina's in Bolton

They have 2 rooms; the small one seats up to 90, the large one up to 275. It's attached to their restaurant. Food is unbelievable.

Pricing starts at $40 and goes up to $80 or $90 I think.

    Great food!
