Please recommend your photographer!

I need a photographer!  Please recommend who you used/are using.  I would like to spend less than $5,000, ideally I'd like 2 shooters, an engagement session, and someone who will be there for the whole day (not just 8 hours).  Is this possible?

I'm wedding dress shopping with my mom today so I might not be able to check this again until tomorrow, but thank you soo much for any suggestions!

    I would encourage you to check out Lindsay Shaw Photography. She is excellent. She did our engagement shoot and is doing our wedding next month. She is in Northeastern CT but travels all over for bookings. She was the only vendor I knew right away I wanted when we got engaged. With what you are looking for she should be in your price range.

    We used Mike Ross out of Hamden.  He was a single photographer but we were very pleased with the results.   PM me for photos!

    We used Studio 1923 and were so happy with them! We had two shooters for both our engagement session and wedding. For our wedding they came when we were getting ready and stayed until the end of our reception. Not only do they take gorgeous pictures, they are great people who were wonderful to work with. Every photo they take is a good one!

    We're using Gwendolyn Pellegrino. She is phenomenal. We love her photos and we love her. She's such a sweet woman who is passionate about what she does. She is well under $5,000 {PM me for details). Her package includes engagement session and her services all day (no limit). I believe there were some other things included in her package, as well, but I'd have to look. Seriously, she's the nicest person and her photos are amazing. I can't rave about her enough. She works only on word-of-mouth, so you wont see her advertised. Unfortunatly, she doens't have a second photographer with her. I'm not sure if that's something she could offer, but she might be able to. We didn't talk about that. We thought she was worth not having the second photographer.

    Make sure you pick someone you're willing to spend your entire wedding day with. I think it would be hard to pick someone who isn't personable or friendly.

    Matthew J. Wagner Fine Photography. He was absolutely amazing and took such phenomenal pictures. He's def. a higher end photographer but within your price range.

    I highly recommend HK Photography.  Hubert and Alka are AMAZING.  So talented.  The thing I love about them is that they each have a different shooting style.  They both take beautiful photojournalistic shots, but Hubert makes sure to get all the classic wedding photos, while Alka gets all the unexpected moments through her completely artsy eyes.  Love them!  They're well within your budget.  We did an engagement shoot, and a full day of with no time limit.  They went above and beyond for us.  In the morning they met us in Kent (10am) to do a morning ceremony shoot for DH and I on the river at Bulls Bridge, and were happy to climb down on the rocks with us, then they drove over an hour away to Ridgefield where we were getting ready (at 2pm w/ 4pm ceremony) and stayed all the way through the entire wedding.  Every other photographer wanted to charge us at least an additional $1000 for the morning shoot.  They were with us for about 12 hours in all, but they were contracted for the whole day.  I really can't say enough good about them.

    Studio1923! Such a fantastic business, fantastic couple, fantastic Amanda (ha, newest team member!). Of the hundreds of pictures I've gotten back, there was only 1 I didn't like and that's because I was standing funny and sucking in my gut wrong. Our engagement pictures are beautiful, our wedding pictures are beyond amazing.  Jerome had no problem coming at 2pm to take pictures even though our ceremony wasn't until 6:30 (first look ahead of time). Definitely check them out!

    Highly recommend Photology Studios. They did our trash the dress shoot and the pics came out amazing! Not sure what their current pricing is but last year their pricing started at $2000 which includes two photogs and engagement session.

    We are using LT Photography (out of Wallingford) their packages range from $1400-$4300.  We have 2 photographers (both all day), we had an engagement session, a coffee table book, all rights to all photos on a CD etc;  I am very pleased with them

    You'd get exactly what you want, for approximately $4000, from my photographers!  And I cannot recommend them highly enough - they are truly fabulous, and great people.  We had sneak peeks up two days after the wedding, and they've been super easy to work with.  They are seriously talented - I've been an artist for over a decade, so I'm really picky with composition, focus, depth, etc.  The only other photographers I really liked were closer to $10k. 

    Alexis Stein Photography.  Seriously, check them out.  FANTASTIC!

    We used Catherine Fiehn her website is www.catherinefiehnweddings.com  Everything was amazing! We got married sometime ago now, just stopped back for fun to see what is going on) but she has since been the photographer at just about all of my friend's weddings. You can see more of her stuff on Facebook then her website. Her prices are way lower then you'd expect also.
