Wedding Program question

Hi Ladies,

I am working on my wedding program and wanted some advice.  We are having a catholic wedding, and there will be lots of folks who aren't actually catholic attending.  So I am trying to determine if we should use a short format, or long format.

Short format would just list the readings and the person reading like:
Genesis 2:18-24                                    Valere S.

Or the long format:
Genesis 2:18-24                                       Valerie S.

The Lord God Said:....

With the text of the readings, responsal psalms, etc so people could follow along.

I think the long format might make it easier for folks who haven't been to a catholic mass before, but might be a bit overwhelming and possibly seem pretentious?

What do you think?

Thanks!

I think the short version only because if some of your guests aren't catholic, they might not feel comfortable doing it even if they have the words in front of them.  The ones who are catholic will already know the words so they won't need the extra hand IMO
good luck with whatever you decide =]

I agree -- the short version might be a little more comfortable.

Your wedding is your day, of course, but we still have to be mindful of the people who put the effort into showing up, getting you a gift, etc. Don't want to make them feel awkward if they have a different belief system.
