hair color? PIP

I' promised my mother I would be married as a blond when I started dying my hair black at 15, and it's finally time for her to collect on that. I've been dying it red for the past 4 years, and just went to a salon to get it back to blond a few months ago. I'm still trying to figure out the right shade of blond though. I'm going in Tuesday to get some low lights in, I'm thinking med blond and/or dark honey? I'm terrible at this, and really looking forward to going back to red next fall! In the meantime, any suggestions? I look like this now- it's waaay too yellow I think and I'm not happy with it at all.

I think having some dark honey highlights thrown in would help it look less yellow. I'm doing the same thing on Tuesday! Kinda. Well, I've been dying my hair light brownish/reddish for about 4 years now too. My natural hair color seems to get darker, the older I get. I've been thinking about going back to blonde (my hair color for years), and decided to do it on Tuesday. I think the honey would add some more depth and "realness" (that might not be the best term, but it's all I got). It's not that the color now is bad, but it's just lacking some dimension. Lowlights should fix that just fine!

What shade of blonde are you naturally? I am a darker blonde (kind of a blah color) and I have my stylist put in highlights and lowlights to give it more depth. I get a lot of compliments on it, FWIW. I think you should go with some lowlights like you said =]

NYC when is your wedding day? I would definately put in some lowlights and highlights as well, but make sure they're super careful if you are going to go blonder. I'm a hairdresser and its hard to explain to people sometimes that it just takes time to get the right shade, while keeping the hair in decent condition. make sure you do conditioning treatments at home,so the hair doesnt break or get damaged. Ask for a level 6 or 7 for the lowlight and go from there. HTH.

</div><div>This! I'm a hairstylist as well, and sometimes it's a lot of trial and error with the exact shade when you're trying to narrow down a "perfect" blonde. Red is also that hardest color to eliminate, so that yellowy/orangey color takes a bit to remove. I'm in the same boat, I promised my Mom I'd be blonde. It's taken me since Feb. to get to the whitest blonde I can, from a deep burgundy red. I'm using the Biolage Strengthening shampoo & conditioner & Leave In Spray to keep my hair strong and not "mushy" from too much bleaching and coloring. </div>
