So we are getting married early January 2013, and are starting to work on planning our honeymoon. I have done lots of traveling internationally in the previous years where my fiance has not. We want to go somewhere warm, tropical, with a beach and just relax. I started some research on good places to go during that time, and have heard that these places are good:
-acupolco
-barbados
- fiji
-beliz
I have friends that honeymooned in Fiji and they LOVED it, so I've been interested in that, but Barbados sounds really awesome too.
My fiance is inactive military so we cant go to Mexico, and honestly he is freaked out by Mexico's state right now with the Cartel etc. so he really doesn't want to go there.
anyway, what would you guys suggest? what kind of places/hotels/all-inclusive etc should we be looking at?
anyone been to Barbados or Fiji??
Re: Honeymoon in January??
What's your budget?
[QUOTE]I'm confused, why can't you FI go to Mexico because he's in the military? What's your budget?

Certain gov't jobs have travel restrictions and Mexico happens to be one of those places right now. Both myself and my FI work in an industry that is similarly restricted. We have been told not to travel to most of Mexico.
whats your budget?
[QUOTE]We had a January 14 wedding and went to Belize for the honeymoon. LOVEW IT! Total, we spent around 3k for the package and flights from OH. We had an all inclusive package with Caves Branch where we had three days of adventure in the jungle and then two days on the beach. You may not want that much action if you are looking for just a beach scene...regardless, Belize was awesome in January. Great food! Great people! Definitley worth checking out. We didn't put a deposit down until November which didn't seem to be a problem for vacancy at that time of the year in Belize... http://www.cavesbranch.com/belize-tree-houses-canopy
