So my fiance and I have battled over what we listen to in the car for years. When we were younger we didn't debate over music too much because we primarily listened to the same thing and since I had my own car, I listened to my music whenever, wherever and gave him free reign over the stereo. But things have changed. As I've gotten older I listen to my old school, neo soul, and rock music much more. My ears are far too selective to listen to his garbage rap (Tupac, yes; Messy Marv, flip no!!). So with the battle of genres in the car I have gotten into the habit of ONLY bringing my rock CDs when we're together with maybe one neo soul CD. Well, my hard work has finally paid off. Thus far his favorite rock song is, "Gives You Hell" by the All American rejects (to which he now knows nearly all the words) and The Flobots, "Handlebars" and last night I was able to get him to listen to Blue October, Fall Out Boy and a few others, but he seemed to really like the song "The End" by Blue October which I had figured would happen... I know this is probably just jibberish to the masses but I am thrilled beyond words. I have worked long and hard to brainwash him and I am finally beginning to see the fruit of my labor, lol. Next...swing music (though I'll wait until he's fully hooked on rock before I move to swing)
