Folchi's?

Hi ladies - FI stopped into Folchi's today and enjoyed the guy he talked to. He also thought the tuxes were of nice quality. Just wondering if anyone had any feedback regarding Folchi's, either positive or negative.

Thanks!

Oh and FI wants me to ask: What is a reasonable price to ask one's groomsmen to pay when renting tuxes? He hasn't been in any weddings yet, so he isn't sure what is reasonable.

We used Folchi's and they were great (full review in bio - I'm too lazy to type it out right now ;)).

As for cost...hmmm.  I guess that depends on your guys' life situations.  I THINK our's were around $100, and then we got one free.  H already owned his, so we gave the free one to one of his groomsmen who is a grad student (read: VERY short on cash).

hr is right. Around $100 seems to be the normal. We went with a much higher cost because the company we chose was the only one who had the right vest color. I think that if you ask your GM to pay around $100 that is completely reasonable.

We are using Folchi's and they have been awesome so far!  FI has gotten tuxes from them for other events and has also purchased suits from them and they have always done a great job.  Their customer service is awesome as well.  Folchi's also warehouses all of their tuxes on sight so if for any reason anything doesn't fit they can exchange it while you're there.

My fiance has used Folchi's for several weddings he has been in, and his experiences were good so we're going with them too. Never heard a bad thing about them! He's always paid about $120.

Just for comparison, I'm going with Pepe Ramundo (got tons of recs for him and Folchis on this board), and the tuxes are $125 with shoes, vest & tie included, the groom's is free, and the ring bearer's is 1/2 price.  If you want to look around Pepe is GREAT, couldn't be happier with him, the service or the tuxed.

I've heard from wedding consultants and people in the wedding business that they best places to rent tuxes/suits from are Folchi's and Skeffingtons.

We went with Peppe Ramundo it's great to do buisness with the actual owner because you can tell he really cares about not only about the tuxedo but about the whole wedding party. We brought our gm in to get measured and Peppe and Carmen treated them like they were there family! I have never experinced this kind gratitude!
No wonder these people won awards and been around for 40yrs. Congrats to them!

Hmmmm....only nine posts and every single one of them hailing Peppe's as the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Interesting....velly, velly interesting....

I'm not accusing you of anything 123kk, but you have to admit it does seem a bit fishy that you've been on the boards for 7 months, yet only have nine posts, and they all talk about a single vendor.

It would be nice to hear you comment on how the rest of your wedding planning is going.  Smile

My Wedding is going to take place in Las Vegas. Why would I pay local vendors for travel time while we have family in Las Vegas.

Fair enough, but then why no posts on the Vegas board?  Why are your only posts here on the Cinti board, and only talking about Peppe's?

I'd also say that the ladies here don't just come here for vendor reviews, they come here for ideas (dress ideas, floral ideas, invitation ideas) - you don't need to mention a vendor name to talk, for example, about what color shoes would go best with a certain color of bridesmaid dress.

    ::shrug::

This board has had posters in the past who only posted about a single vendor who were later discovered to be that vendor posing as a bride.  I'm not accusing you of doing that, I'm just saying that I, personally, view any poster who only submits posts about a single vendor  as being a bit suspect.

I think it is up to whom ever to post what they want to. This is an informational site.
As a bride I feel that I do not have to expose everything I do and don't do. Sometimes when you have a good experience about something you like to talk about it. This site is not the only wedding site out there. I don't think I should be criticized for my opinion I had with a vendor... Oh well... I guess I should keep my good experiences to my self!

I loved Folchi's and would go with them for any event. We use them frequently for black tie events every year and I am thankful we have had them for a few of our groomsmen that didnt fit quite right in a few tuxes. Folchi's was able to go down to their warehouse which is on site and get the correct sizes. Makes it less nerve wrecking when you know they have everything you need there.

We are definitely going with Folchi's - thank you for all of the wonderful reviews. I have also heard nice things about Peppe's, however, HR, my mind was going in the same direction as yours. Wink

FI says thanks for the price affirmations as well. He wants to wear a cumberbund (sp?) and bowtie because, "It makes me feel like James Bond." I think some of our groomsmen are skeptical of the look, but I like it! Kelklump - that was one of the things I liked about Folchi's. The large majority of the groomsmen are out of town, and won't be in town until right before the wedding, so I like that they can make adjustments quickly if needed.

Definitely go with the bowtie / cummerbund look - VERY 007.

I had a great experience with Folchi's.  They gave us great customer service and the tuxes were all all promised (married in Sept 09).   All of our tuxes were around 100, and the grooms was free.  I had no complaints from any of the guys and all the sizes were right.

As for prices, my husband has been in lots of weddings and he's paid anywhere from 100-160 for the tux.  100 is defn on the low side.

    Good luck!
