10/19- Closer it gets, the more crazy I'm going. I hope I'm not alone.

I am almost COMPLETELY diy. We did decide to go ahead with catering and to buy bouquets instead of making them. Other than that, it's been all me. I wanted it that way, and I enjoy the "work". But I have to admit, the little details are starting to get me a little, ok- ALOT, stressed out.

I recently got in contact with all of my vendors (cake, catering, DJ, hair/makeup, hall personnel) and they were all super helpful and wonderful, I couldn't be happier with our choices, it just made me realize how CLOSE it is. I am so, so excited- but part of me just wants to get here so I can feel all this work pay off!

I said to FI a couple days ago, "I really have to finish up all these details!", he replied with, "What more could you possibly have left to do?"- so I gave him the list. The very long list. And he was almost in shock. I said, "Hun, you have no idea how much work goes into a wedding."

I'm soo excited, but sooo anxious also! Is anyone else feeling this way?

Yeah 10/15 here...the only things that aren't DIY are our caterer and the band.

I'm even making our cake.

We have a lists tacked to our fridge of what HAS to be done each weekend.

It sucks.

I'm 10/19 too. I started out with ideas for some DIY projects, but I'm definitely scaling back - I like my sanity and 3D table numbers, while cool, are not worth the frustration of trying to cut foam board. I made one the other night and it looked awful after I spent 45 minutes on it. I've accepted that I'm not a crafty person. I have a to-do list that keeps growing, but FI is helping to keep it all under control.

I am definitely ready for the honeymoon though! 2 weeks off work will be glorious!

agreed. It seems like every week I'm taking a trip out to the store to buy MORE stuff to finish up little DIY details. In fact, I'm about to head out today to get more stuff. *sigh*

I also know how you feel about your FI not knowing all the details and work. Mine has no clue. I've given him a SHORT list of things he needs to take care of and he can't seem to get it done. I'm about to lose my mind. We're DIYing our reception music, and that was his ONE big responsibility and he hasn't started collectin music and making playlists yet. AHHHH!!

Im a 10/19 bride and VERY DIY myself. I love the "work" too!!! Im having such a blast and being able to see the things we have made is so cool...luckly both FI and I are talented in that area. We made a master "to do list" and its big...but its fine...we look at it about every other day and just keep going....I am ready to make some major strides this weekend tho!!!!

We are doing a lot of the decorations and details ourselvers- the florist wanted way more than I wanted to spend on centerpieces.

I feel like I've been planning the wedding for so long (we will be engaged for a year next week!) that I have a lot of random crap that I bought over the last year. Candles, vases, tulle, pomanders, etc. My biggest stressor is hoping it all comes together when we set up!!

Im a 10/20 bride, and most of mine is a DIY....I know the feeling you are talking about. All i have left is the vases (for centerpieces) and all the bouquets and my MOH and I are getting together tomorrow night to work on them (and hopefully getting them done). My FI has had one job in this planning and that was to get his tux. He still hasn't done that yet and it is driving me nuts!!!!!!

I completely agree with this. It seems as though since I didn't just buy all of my things at the same place or have a professional do it, I'm worried about the coordination and all of my ideas meshing together into one grand picture. I'm really hopeful though! And I think it'll be amazing, I just can't wait to get there.

I'm not a DIY, but I AM my own Coordinator...and from afar, since I live in Dallas and work 5 hours away in Houston. I finally sat my FI down a few weeks ago and told him that he's going to have to take over this, this and this (but not completely, as I get final say. LOL) Thank God he's stepped up to the plate. Thank God also that I have picked some very good vendors that have alleviated a lot of stress. It makes all the difference.

10/19 bride here (there aren't too many of us!). Yes, I have a lot of things left but have some help with some of them:

Make card box

Make altar arrangement

Finish choosing ceremony music and readings

Make programs

Buy gifts for BP

Make necklaces for BM

Make memorial arrangement

Order baby's breath

Buy taper candles

Oh, there are many more things I just can't think of any more right now! I know things will get done though so my stress level hasn't been too bad.
