Praises- FI's Best Man and one of my bridesmaids got engaged today!!
All of the babies who were due this week (that I was aware of) are all here safe and sound.
My parents are celebrating their 25th anniversary on Tuesday!

Prayer- Mom & dad are driving to the beach tomorrow for the week, so safe travels and a relaxing week for them.

A teenager in the youth group at my home church had a baby 6 weeks early on Monday. Baby is doing as well as she can be and still in NICU right now. Breathing totally on her own and doesn't have a feeding tube anymore.

The teen and her boyfriend stopped going to youth group because they felt ostracized. Apparently after our youth pastor left in January, the immaturity just started crawling out of the woodwork. My Sunday School class (the college girls) and the guys' class are going to try to reach out to them to let them know they can come to our class and events if they don't feel comfortable in the YG.

If the Church (term used to encompass most, if not all, believers) is going to be against abortion, we need more support for the teens and single adults who chose to raise their babies, even if they did "break the rules." We have all "broken rules"...that's why we need a Savior...we're not better or worse than any other believer. *stepping off soapbox*

A-freakin'-men! I will be praying for those teens and their baby.

My prayer request this week is for sanity and productivity. We open Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on the 21st so there is a lot to be done. I just need to use my time wisely, as I'm so fond of telling my students!

Also, I could use prayer for a situation with my ILs. I don't want to get into all of it, but they are much more conservative and charismatic than H and I in their beliefs and I've felt for a long time that they blame me for H changing. They frequently say things about how he wasn't raised this way and he knows better. They've also told him that college ruined him. Things got pretty heated Friday night and it's feeling a little tense right now. I can't confront them about it because even if they do blame me for H's changing his thinking they'd never tell me.

I went to the doctor about an issue I have been having that didn't go away with antibotics. They still don't know what's wrong. They took a specimen and so now all I can do is wait and see. I'm just praying they figure out what's wrong before the wedding.

I have applied to a program to get my Doctorate in Education. I'm applying late because we found out March 17 that FI will be doing his residency in Columbia, SC. The director was kind enough to let me apply late, but I'll still waiting on a couple of recommendation letters. I'm getting anxious about it. Please pray that I can be patient!

Also, as a back up, it turns out that the public school would hire me to teach science and put me through the program to get certified to teach. I feel better having this back-up plan, but I'm afraid I'll be disappoitned if I don't get in the EdD program. I know I REALLY just have to trust that God will put me in the right place.

I'll be praying for you all!

Please keep Madeline (8 months) and her family in your prayers. Madeline was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumor on her kidney. The kidney needs to be removed and she'll undergo 18+ weeks of chemo. I can't even imagine what her parents are going through.

My college is frustrating me and I can't drop a class I'm going to fail because they have a hold on my account for an unknown reason. Yes I called and they said it was lifted but now a nother dept. has a hold on my account. grr

I still need prayers for a job. I had an interview on Monday and didn't get the position. I'm so overqualified for the jobs that are available around here (small town), but I really need to find something soon. I'm going stir crazy and feeling useless!

You ladies are definitely in my prayers. And Emily... totally agreed. I have my own soap box on the "better than thou" philosophy that pervades churches sometimes. It bothers me too!

Prayer - the job. Only 40 more school days until we're done. Only with God's help and support will I be able to make it for the next 65 or so days until June 10. In the footprints in the sand story.... this is the part where he carries me. I cannot do this on my own. You all have been so supportive too, which really helps to make it through the day.

Praise - FI is being just amazing even when I'm grumpy, overworked, exhausted, or whatever. He's also doing a masters' online so he's super-busy too. We've both been able to work on our patience with each other and it's made us stronger as a couple lately. Oh, and we have our 3rd pre-marital counseling session on Sunday morning. It's going well so far and we're both REALLY excited about it!! :-)

Prayer- There was a fire at an apartment complex in town where A LOT of students from all 3 "big" schools live. One woman was killed (her name hasn't been released but I haven't heard she was a student) and two residents were hospitalized. The roof of the building collapsed and 10 apartments are uninhabitable.

EDIT (4/8/11 6:30pm)- Just got an e-mail from the director of the School of Education. Both people taken to the hospital passed away. They were 26 and had been married for 4 years, the daughter and son-in-law of one of our professors. Please keep these familes in your prayers.
