Hotel shuttles to the reception?

Do hotels with rooms blocked for a wedding ever offer free or discounted rates to use one of their shuttles to make a trip to and from a reception site if it's relatively nearby? I'd like to run one trip to and fro and I wonder if it would be worth trying to negotiate with the hotel that we choose? Also, is it common for the hotel to comp a bridal suite for the couple?

Our hotel does if you book 15 rooms the 16th is free...so that was our room...some hotels will provide free shuttles, ours were not free however they were VERY reasonable....

Our hotel gave us one free night for every 25 night booked - we wound up with a three night stay for us paid for.  And, a shuttle was included if we booked ten nights (ie: my parents are staying from Wednesday to Sunday, so there were four nights)

One of the hotels we looked at offered it if you booked 10 rooms but only ran one trip with a shuttle that held 12 people.  Yea it didn't make sense.  We ended up using the Woodcliff Lake Hilton which offered one round trip with as many shuttles as we needed to take everyone.

We blocked rooms at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton and they provided a free shuttle for guests staying at the hotel.  We also stayed for free in the bridal suite.  They are an awesome hotel!

We booked rooms at the Hampton Inn in fairfield and it included a free shuttle to/from the reception.

If we booked a certain amount of rooms we got a free shuttle.  Its the best way to go I think. Less hassle for you.

Thanks for the information girls, it's really helpful! I thought I was going to have to try to book and pay for a shuttle myself.

Our hotel shuttles were included with our room block. They are going to make two trips (not including bridal party) but will have enough shuttles to hold everyone. Basically meaning that there just won't be one shuttle that holds 20 and will make two trips. If I have 60 guests, they will get 2 shuttles or more and make two trips.

It depends on the hotel. We used the Westminster Hotel in Livingston for a block of rooms and they gave us 2 shuttles before and after the wedding.

the hotel we are using gives the bride and groom a free suite (regardless of how many rooms get booked) and offers a free shuttle service (they provide enough shuttles for the number of people staying at the hotel).. again, regardless whether 1 room gets booked or 20 rooms.

Agreed with a lot of posts, it depends completely on the hotel. I find that most of them are NOT free, it just so happens that the Hampton Inn is free for up to 2 trips each way then after that, depending on which location you chose, they may charge a small fee.
