  You may have to ask the girls on your local board what is normal for your area. Typically bakers charge per slice. For example, the average baker in Dallas charges 2.50-4.00 for buttercream, and a bit more for fondant. I think it varies greatly by region, though.

  I agree that it depends on your area. Most of the shops I looked at started at $3.75 a slice. This doesn't include the stand or delivery.

  Many specialty wedding cake bakeries here were charging from $150 up for a simple, no frills 3 tiered cake.

  
  

  However I found a bakery (more like a coffee shop that also makes cakes for special occasion) that is charging me $70 for a simple 3 tiered cake.
