What have you changed your mind on?

So, I was just going through the bazillion pictures I've saved from TK and other wedding sites and realizing how my ideas have evolved over the nearly one year we've been planning -- some things I thought I'd do, I changed my mind about. Mostly it's small stuff (decided not to wear a veil, opted for pink instead of purple flowers).

The biggest thing we changed our mind on was the music. Initially, we thought DIYing with an iPod would be a great way to save money, but after a lot of thought decided it would be too much hassle, so we hired a DJ. (FI was really not happy about paying the money for a DJ and was not really on board with it for a while, but FINALLY said he was happy I made the call!).

What's one thing you've changed your mind on since you started planning?

the flowers.  Originally I wanted to do deep red and orange calla lillies, but after seeing some knotties pictures of button bouquets I'm going to try making them and see how it goes, if it doesn't pan out I guess I go to he fall back.

The types of flowers.  Originally I was going with all dahlias and mums.  Now I have added roses and hydrangeas I think!  LOL!

We were going to have our entire wedding be 45 people on a schooner sail.  Then we decided it was just way too hard to cut so many people out (plus people just invited themselves to come up for the bbq after-party), so instead the sail is considered the ceremony (even though it's 4 hours and includes lunch), and then we're turning the bbq after-party into our actual reception.  It's costing us more money, but in the end we're happy that everyone who wants to celebrate with us will get to.

Reception site, colors, and most recently the entire wedding all together x2...we briefly contemplated just doing a destination wedding to the Bahamas/Caribbean but then decided it was only intriguing because we just want to go away - we haven't gone away to a warm destination in 2 yrs, next trip is the honeymoon

I've changed my mind a million times. first we were going to get married at his grandmother's auction barn, our colors were going to be yellow and orange and my dress was going to be a white cotton sundress and our flowers were going to be sunflowers. then we decided to do a formal ceremony and reception, our colors changed to lavender and white, and my dress is now a more formal dress with a train. I switched DJs, and the invitations. and things are still changing. ugh!
