If MOG wears a long dress, will it look funny if MOB (me) wears a shorter one?

Nope! Fellow (3 time) MOB here. If the shorter dress makes you feel beautiful then that is what you should wear.

Not at all. The MOB and MOG do not have to match or coordinate their dresses.

Nope. My Mom wore a long dress for my sister's wedding and the MIL wore a short dress. Nothing funny looking about it because both were dressed correctly for the formality of the event.

It's totally fine. For our wedding, MOB (my mother) went out and bought a special gown (long) for the event. MOG wore something from her closet which was shorter but also lovely and quite appropriate. They both looked great!

The MOG, the SMOB(ex' wife) and me, the MOB, pretty much did what my daughter requested, we all chose long dresses. Her venue is very formal and it is an evening event. I think as long as everyone is happy with the decision, it's good to go.
