Hello! My fiance and I live in NYC and we're looking for a venue for our Indian wedding ceremony and reception less than 1 hour from NYC in NJ or any other areas within that distance. We plan to have 200 guests and want to have it in the spring of 2013. We're finding that many places do not work with Indian caterers, or if they do allow you to bring your own caterer, their own base price for open bar and service staff is high. Our budget for venue, food, service, and open bar is aroun $100 per person. The only places that we found that fit the budget are not too pretty (run of the mill catering halls with low ceilings and dark/club ambiance). I was wondering if you all knew of any venues that fit the budget and location that are historic buildings, or scenic (e.g. with a nice view, windows in the reception hall, high ceilings, nice garden for ceremony).
