Hi, I am an obvious newbie and found the NC-RDU board first, but it seems like much more action happening here. Is this the place to get the most info, even if I am getting married in RDU?

    Hi Heels!

    A lot more happens on this board than the RDU board.  There are plenty of girls with ties to Raleigh/Durham who hang out on the NC board.

    Where are you getting married?

    Agreed. . .this one just seems to have more people, plus not everyone actually knows about the RDU board.

    Thanks everyone!  I'm pretty excited obviously, but overwhelmed as well. Right now, we are planning to have our wedding and reception at the Carolina Inn. But, we are getting married in the fall and no one knows the football schedule yet. I'm worried if UNC has a home football game that weekend it will be a big giant mess. So, until that schedule comes out, we are also looking at alternate locations as a backup.

    It all making me a bit crazy!!!!

    i thought about getting married at Carolina Inn but glad I didn't as my wedding is the night of the UNC vs. Dook basketball game in CHAPEL HILL!!  aggh..that would have been a nightmare.

    Hi and welcome!

    I'm from the Raleigh area too. This general North Carolina board just tends to get more action (even though it's really slow right now). And even though some of the other girls aren't from your specific area, they're still really helpful and have lots of good ideas and tips!

    Carolina Inn is beautiful, but it's smart to think about football season. FI and I actually decided on our actual date because football season and the ACC tournie will be over, so all of our friends won't be a-mad that they're not at/watching the game or b-listening to it/watching it during our wedding/reception! And the other perk is that I know I won't be sweating in my wedding dress! :)

    Apparently, my wedding date has already passed. I put 2010 instead of 2011 into my bio when I set it up, and it kept sending me to the nest!

    We have set the date for September 17th. I looks like there will be a home game the two weekends prior, so hopefully they will be away on the 17th when the schedule is announced.
