Just another reason to becareful of what you post and the info you have on a screen name/profile.

You know what's weird? I got a prank call around midnight the other night.

It was some girl, from a blocked number, giggling that it was Victoria's Secret and they had my red G-String for pick up.

What?? Who knows BUT I've never had a prank call on my cell phone before so watch out when you give your number to places/things.

This is what she wrote me on how it all went down for her:

My son bought something off of guy he met through x-box but the kid never sent the item so my son flagged it on paypal and got his money back ...after that is when it started ...The boys friends on x-box told my son that this kid was no one to mess with ...There may be a group but the ring leader is about 13 yrs ..they posted pictures of our house on youtube with real phone number and real names and the school my son goes to ...I made a police report 3-4 weeks ago and this has been known to call 911 on people I put it in the report but they never shared it with the rest of the dep ..I keep filing more reports with each new thing but last weds is when the police came to my house with guns drawn ......I had to go to the school yesterday because another thing they do is call bomb threats or say my son has bombs straped to him ...so this has been a mess ...we took the xbox away till this thing gets worked out ...one of  my sons friends from  Pa called and they are doing the same thing to him ..our police are working together ..."the police tore down this boys front door "

So Lets hike, don't earase that number(or wriet the date and time of the call along with the number on paper and keep it in a safe place where you will remember where you put it) it seems that they go thhrough cells, game counsels and computers. I would be upset if I had a call like you received!

Our state now has a do not call list for cell phone numbers along with your home number, that only cuts down on sales and wouldn;t help in this case,

Facebook does list your numbers if you give it but you can take it off as well. NEVER give true info about yourself when setting up a computer name, game name anything that someone could get a hold of and use against you.

ETA: Oooo I am sorry Letshike, youstated it was a private number, so I have no clue whay I told you to write that number down. <Laughing at myself and saying Duh!! />

Wow your story is scary! I'm actually really concerned about my prank call as I am a teacher. I'm worried somehow a prior student got my number. I do not allow my old students to be my friend on Facebook or have my phone number. I do not need a student to call me and mention the words Victorias secret. Yikes.

No matter how much you try to secure yourself one flaw and they can get a hold of you. My brother and sister-in-law are both teachers. With the way things are now a days you couldn't pay me enough to be a teacher. Which brings me to another point if you are a teacher you should be making so much more than what they get paid, I can not emphasize the words "so much more"

I don't pay bills through internet, bank through it, I do shop but I have a special e-mail account just for that so if anything "weird" comes up I don;t have to go looking through a bunch of e-mails that friends and family send !  Facebook is just friends and family that I have known forever and that's it. I am glad in my profession I don't have to have a cell phone or an e-mail. I don't think I will ever own a cell phone TBH, at times I have thought about it but the cons out weight the pros for me.

The internet is a great thing but also can be so life compromising!

OMG that is a terrifying story!!  I mean could you imagine a swat team randomly showing up at your house for no reason and you have no clue why? People are just crazy.  I don't get it.

Sorry to hear about your friend having to go through that too!  It's insane
