Officiant questions

I am looking into finding an officiant. I'm moving to Chicago in July so premarital counseling requirements would not work for us. If you are using an officiant, I'd love to hear about them.

Then I was thinking, do you invite the officiant to stay for the reception?

What is a round about cost for an officiant?

Thanks for the help ladies!

    I absolutely loved my officiant.

His name is John Melchinger; he and his wife run "A Perfect Witness"

I paid $200 overall, which included the rehearsal & wedding ceremony. He told me not to worry about feeding him at the wedding because he just leaves once the ceremony is done.

I absolutely loved that he tailored the ceremony to our personalities as well and our need for NO religious tones.

We are using Pastor Dean Ryder out of Dunedin. Pastor Dean does non-denominational weddings, and he and his wife Donne are such a sweet couple. He was great to sit down with and go over different options for several parts of the ceremony. http://www.tampabayweddings.us

We did invite him to our reception, too, because we felt a connection instantly.

NicoleEOle13: If you dont mind me asking, you mentioned the officiant was $200 for rehearsal and ceremony? The website lists $250 + 100 for the rehearsal. What all was included in your price?

    Thanks
