So excited about my DIY

I had to share with all you lovely ladies! I am wearing a veil for the ceremony, but thought that it would awesome to have something fun for the party. I was looking at flower fascinators at the salon, but just couldn't stomach the price ($150 or more).. so in true budget fashion, I decided to DIY. Hope you ladies like it as much as I do!

  • The center is actually a bunch of hot fix swarovski crystals. I didn't have the hot fix tools, so I just hot glued them on. The stones were a bit pricey at JoAnn Fabrics, but I had a coupon to use. Plus I wanted to be consistent given that my earrings for the wedding are also swarovski

  • Wow, that is beautiful!  Congrats on a great check!
  • That is GORGEOUS!!! I am trying to DIY my hairpiece as well, and the one I like (very similar to the one you made) at David's Bridal is $99! Did you get all of the supplies at JoAnns? I am going to attempt this project this week...wish me luck that it turns out as awesome as yours!

I got the majority of the stuff at Michael's also full of coupon-y goodness. The stones and the tulle were the parts that I got at JoAnn's. It was really easy to do. I just popped off the silk flower from its stem, and pulled out the center parts so that each set of petals were in singles. I then put them all back together, interspersing them with some tulle and hooking in some feathers. I sewed the whole thing together, because i found that much more flexible. When I was happy with what it looked like, i hot glued on the stones, to cover up the center. Then hot glued extra feathers to the back before finally attaching it to a hair clip.

I hope you find it as easy as I did, can't wait to see your pics!
