Minervas Bridal Rant

So I decided to give Minervas Bridal another chance when my bridesmaids went to order their dresses and they lost all the information on my bridesmaids. I went today with one of my bridesmaids to pick up her dress and they ordered her the wrong size, she was a size 6 and they ordered her a size 8. She initially tried the sample size on which was a size 6, she said it fit perfectly and the lady said they would order that. She called a week later to give her credit card number and the lady confirmed that she would get a size six. They told her she would need to come in to sign the receipt before they could fill the order, so she would not be charged until she signed. Well they ended up charging her that day, so she figured she didn't need to come in.
Then today we go to try it on and the dress is way too big, which I understand that mistakes happen, so I would have been fine if they had just apologized and taken the dress to make the alterations. Instead, Minervas sister came out and started yelling at us, literally yelling about how she refused to pay for this because it would take the seamstress a half a day to fix it and it is now a major alteration. This is my second huge hiccup that has happened with them and so unless you want to triple check everything that you do with them I would strong recommend choosing another store. Cry Sorry if this didn't make a lot of sense, I tend to run on when I rant

    Thanks for the warning. I went last week to try on dresses and didn't have such a great experience. I felt more rushed and pressured here then any other store I've been to. I was very disappointed b/c she carrys all the designers I like, but they didn't listen to me at all when I explained what I was looking for.

    Wow that is absolutely ridiculous.  We'll make sure to warn people about them.

    Wow! I'm sorry! Seems like there are a lot of bridal shops in CFL that stink! Eeek! :(

    So now what are you guys going to do? Are they going to order you the right size or make you pay for the alterations? I don't see how she could yell at you because if they hadn't made the mistake then they wouldn't have to alter anything. At least I now know to cross this shop off my list.

    OH man... I actually ordered my gown through them already, and I had heard some horror stories -- but then again, you hear them about EVERY store, but I AM worried.

    I hope my dress comes out ok. I am by no means a bridezilla, but I am BIG on customer service and if something goes wrong that they refuse to fix, I'll talk it all the way to the B.B.B. if I have to.

    It should be ok, the lady finally said that at least part of it was their fault, so I don't think she is charging us for the major alterations. She is going to fit the dress so that it fits like the sample size that my BM orignially tried on.

    glad they said they would fix it.  Still not good probably wont go there.

    I got my dress there and had an ok experience. They are not overly friendly or helpful. I wanted to come in and try it on when it came in and they rushed me and made me feel like I was wasting their time! I am going tomorrow for a fitting so we will see how that goes! I really wanted to buy my dress from Something Blue in Dr. Phillips. The girls in there are awesome! Unfortunately there was nothing in there for me but I did order my veil from them. I hope they can resolve this issue for you! I know it can be so stressful!

    Hey ladies! Just wanted to give you an update... The fitting went great! Everyone was so friendly and patient with me. They even stayed open 30 min late to finish up with me. I feel like a realy bride now after the fitting I am so excited! kenzie I just found out yesterday the seamstress is going out of town for the whole month of August. Just wanted to make sure you knew so it did not interfere with your bridesmaid dress alterations!

    I bought my dress there, going for my final fitting tonight. I agree, they have the worst customer service! I wanted to try my dress on when it came in and they gave me a hard time about it. For the first fitting they were mad I did not have the undergarmets and shoes yet and I told them i had not tried it on, how would I know what undergarmets I would need??? They are nice until you pay in full then after that, they act like you are taking their time up and not helpful at all.
