Any recommendation for travel agent?

Hello,

I'm wondering if I would get a better deal for booking our flights, hotels, and accommodation for our families and friends with a travel agent?  How did everyone book their trip to Hawaii and Honeymoon?

Should I go with a travel agent? or Expedia?  :)  Thanks!!

Darryl Wong in Oahu has had great reviews - he booked all of kinibrun's wedding (which was a couple years ago) guest's stuff and scored them tons of extras.

Personally though, I just booked everything on my own.

I'm booking everything on my own, too.  Doing all the research for guests and will put everything on the website for them.

We booked on our own.  We did set up some group deals for our guests -- discounts on Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines, discounts at our group hotel, etc.  We posted pretty regularly on our website when hot deals were available.

Same thing...we're booking everything ourselves online.  I think my mom will talk to her travel agent...she is also a friend...to look into airfare to check if she can find  better prices through a consolidator.  Our condo and our guests condos were all booked via VRBO and our hotels via their websites.  The other thing i did was to become a CAA/AAA member which can give really great discounts on hotels and rental cars...eg. if you and your FI are commonlaw and you use your membership # to book you do not need to pay that ridiculous 2nd driver fee plus you get a discount...all the money we save is worth more than the membership itself which i was planning to purchase eventually anyway. HTH! J. :-)

We attempted to book through Darryl Wong last year, but he never got back to us after one phonecall.

We ended up booking everything for our HM on our own, using TripAdvisor for reviews.

I have a travel agent I am using for group rates. Carol Peck. So far she has been great with emailing me costs of hotels and group rates for guests (even though our wedding isn't for another year she is super responsive). Great thing about her is you can still have some of your guests book through her OR if they find a cheaper alternative they can book on their own. So it's really a win-win situation.
