Re: Central MA Brides...

  • i looked at Leicester country club for my wedding.  We actually met with the golf manager because the function manager was on vacation...but she was super nice.  The grounds are really pretty.  I wanted an outside wedding.  There are benches set up for the ceremony and I was concerned there would not be enough seating for our guests.  They have two ballrooms inside, a small one and a big one.  I was told if weather was an issue and no one had rented the small ballroom we could do our ceremony there, otherwise it would be set up in the main ballroom.  The large ballroom is upstairs, but they do have an elevator.  There is a small balcony off the large ballroom.  The room was nice, but overall it was far for most of my guests and it isn't the easiest to get to. (I used to live up the street from it, but I think guests might have trouble finding it).

I got married at Stow Acres and overall I was really happy.  The prices were great.  The venue itself was awesome.  My guests really enjoyed the wrap around porch.  It did end up raining a bit the morning of my wedding, so the ceremony was held inside.  They have partitions to separate the room and after the ceremony guests could hang in the lounge area or on the porch for cocktails while they switched over the room.  The food was decent (the prime rib was definitely better than the chicken piccata...but they do have a lot of choices to pick from).  They have some great packages that you can include (we went with the one that included hot passed hors'devores and our wedding cake!)  Price wise it was definitely better than most places I checked out.  The brides room upstairs is pretty small and kind of dingy...so I would definitely recommend getting hair and makeup done elsewhere and just putting your dress on there (that is what I did).
Communication wise, I didn't have too many issues, but I am a go with the flow kind of person....I know some people have complained about having trouble getting a hold of them.  For guests who live along 495, it is pretty easy to get to.  For guests that live along 128, it is sort of a pain (you pretty much have to take back roads there).  Overall, I am glad we got married and had our reception there.  If you have any questions let me know!
