Alcohol Packages

Hey Ladies,
Circumstance out of my control led my fiance and I to have to find a new venue 6 months prior to our wedding date. With limited availability we didn't have much choice and now we are paying ALOT more than originally had planned. So trying to save money and trying to figure out if alcohol is the place to do it.
My FI has a lot of friends, friends that drink. So I don't want anyone to be pissed off with just wine and beer - but thats what Im leaning towards right now to try and save some dough.
Let me know your thoughts ladies!

As long as it is not a cash bar, you are good.

I agree with PP, cash bars just don't sit well with a lot of people (especially people that tend to drink more.... one glass of wine probably won't upset anyone too much). As someone who HATES beer and finds most wine too dry or strong, I'd certainly appreciate having a signature drink as a third option. Your other option is if the hall will include it, do sangria with your wine choice. Sangria always goes over VERY well and it's more appealing to people who don't like plain wine. At our engagement part we did beer and wine and we got them to include sangria with the wine and EVERYONE drank that - even the people who normally drank beer. Either way don't push yourself over budget for the sake of alcohol!

I went to a wedding recently that was beer/ wine signature drink.  It went over really well.  I think her signature drink was something fruity but easy to make, like a pina colada or something like that.  I know it saved the couple a lot of money and no one was upset.

We had beer, wine, and a signature drink and no one complained, it did save a lot of money. Your guests will drink what is offered to them and not focus on what isn't there. Agree with pp's as long as it isn't a cash bar.

Thanks again ladies - def not doing cash bar - I don't wanna be paying for my drinks all night either! haha. Leaning towards beer and wine with a signature drink, or a Open bar, depending on our final guest count. But I think we are gonna do the beer and wine and sig ... Thanks again!
