RSVP deadline question

how long should we wait before calling people to see if they are coming since the RSVP deadline has passed (it was 7/20)?

    Our deadline was a Friday - we started calling that Monday.

    I think you have let enough time pass to where you can start calling people.  

    My RSVP deadline is this Saturday (7/28) and we are going to give people until the following Tuesday (8/1) to allow anyone who actually mailed their's on Saturday to trickle in before we start calling.  My venue has to have the final headcount by 8/4.

    kk... just making sure... im so frustrated that most of them are from my family...and they all need to travel here from the East Coast.  one aunt emailed my sisiter to say they were "still thinking about it".  we sent save the dates back in January.  I figure, if you haven't decided if your coming/bought tickets - your probably not coming..so why not just say so :(

    Your wedding isn't until the end of August, more than 30 days away still.  It's still possible for people to buy plane tickets now for the end of August.

    I started calling right away but most of mine were family I knew was coming ( dad, brother, inlaws) and a few of my aunts answered for my cousins(who don't live with them) so its been pretty painless. Hopefully yours goes as smoothly.

    I understand why you're frustrated, I'm just saying don't assume that they can't make it if they don't know yet.  Unfortunately one of the problems that go along with having a relatively early RSVP date is that some people still don't know at that point whether they can attend or not.

    What is the last possible day you can get word to your caterer?
