July 2012 Weddings

TMI Aunt flow talk.

Oh what the hell is going on with my damn period!! Last month it was 3 days late and now all of a sudden 3 weeks early I have my period!? I am normal, average, on time with a few hit or miss days but never this early before! I havent started new birth control and have been consistant on taking the pill. This throws next month for a whole loop! Period calculator is saying July 12th is next expected period! 2 days before the wedding! UGH.

  • Oh no! You had it three weeks early?? As in... one week after your last one? That really stinks!

I had mine this past week so as long as I'm on time next month, it should work out perfectly. I just have to try to not let myself get stressed b/c that could def delay it.

  • Wow, that really stinks!!

Have you missed any of your days with the pill or even taken your pills at inconsistent times throughout the day? My fiance is a pharmacist and he always gets on me for not taking the pill at the same time of day (i.e., right when you wake up every morning, 12 noon, etc.) - he says people don't realize that and that it can throw off their schedules.

One time I missed two days of pills, and then I had a 10 day long period....that was horrible.

If you are feeling a lot of stress from wedding planning or other aspects of your life, perhaps that could have something to do with it??
  • I sometimes forget to take it at the same time everyday...and it sucks when I forget because when I take it at night when I get home from work, then again in the AM when I wake up I'm super naucious and have a headache....

I've skipped my period a few times and this last time, I've been nausiated & have a two day migraine...ugh...today sucks...Oh and my flow seems to be a little heavier now...odd...=(
  • This is why I love my BC. I only get my period 4 times a year :)

That stinks about having it before the wedding, but maybe there is something you can do to avoid that from happening.

I'm with you - and mine can barely even count as periods anymore. Super light and short - compared to the painful long heavy ones I had before.

  • I definately know what your going through! However I was never on BC!
I just started BC about 2 weeks ago because my period was suppose to come the day of my wedding Cry I called my OBGYN asap and told her the details. She said she gets tons of girls who ask for BC just to skip their period for certain events. OBGYN says I should skip my placebo pill the week of the wedding.

Maybe you should call your OBGYN and see if they can steer your in the direction of something else. However, your wedding is 1 month away so I dont know what other options they could have? Frown

I hope everything works out though! That would totally suck to have your period on the day of the wedding!!

    Yep - the generic version.

I'm not going to lie - the first 6 months on it sucked. I would spot-bleed pretty much everyday. Not sure if it's because it was my first time using BC or that pill itsself, but After about 4-6 months, everything was great and it works perfectly. No babies, no spotting, easy light periods when I do have them.

With my old insurance, it was only 10 dollars for a three month supply. Now that I'm back on my dad's, it's 90 dollars for a three month supply - but still not terrible.

  • Me too!!  I try to take them at the same time every night but I'm at most two hours off and now I'm a week early....I called my GYN and he's suppose to be calling me back but I'm really frustrated.

I use to take NuvaRing and I LOVED IT!!!!!  Stupid insurance doesn't cover it anymore though so I have to take the pill....I strongly recommend NuvaRing because you don't think about it on a daily basis.  It's really great.  Plus my periods were so light on it!

Good luck!  Give your GYN a call and see what they say.  Definitely don't want your period on your wedding day!

Really? Wow, I must be lucky. I haven't had any spotting at all! But I have also been on BC since I was like 16. My 3mo supply cost me $30, so I cannot complain. But it sure is wonderful though! :) I am due to have my period 2 days before we come home from Aruba, so I may skip the placebos so I don't have it there and only when i come home hopefully it works.  Have you ever tried it while on this BC?

  • To the ladies up there using seasonal and seasonique the difference between the two is a hormone they use. Seasonique is supposed to help with pms in addition to being bc.... i've been on both before and i love them, not getting your period is AWESOME lol

It's funny that you just posted this cause i was gonna make a tread of my own but it was just to celebrate that i am done birth control for a long time (possibly ever) :D yay! I've been on it for 10 years now and FI and i are very careful in that we use 2 forms of protection so we dont get any little surprises, but so that i can get off the hormones no more pills. We're going down to one type of protection, we dont want kids for a bit but we'll be married so with the one type if a woopsie happened it's not a big deal. I'm a little nervous b/c i dont know what it will do to my periods :S

  • I take the pill every morning, same time, no diet change, stress has been up this week (kids are trying to make me go gray).

Im just so annoyed with it all! wtf! April my period lasted 2 days super light. May my period lasted almost a week but very heavy, and now June its here super super early, heavy. I am gonna call my OB and see what they figure is going on and if there is any way i can steer clear from the 14th LOL
