Opinions needed about candy buffet containers!

Okay, small detail that I'm looking for opinions on. We're debating two different types of containers for our candy buffet..I realize that in the end, it really doesn't matter, but I'm just looking for opinions :)

Plastic containers like these, with circle shaped stickers on the top with our wedding date, monogram, etc

Or these...
With square stickers on the front with our name, date etc...

Price ends up being about the same, with the containers slightly cheaper. I feel like the deli containers are at least reusable and look nicer..though I'm not sure... thoughts???

The plastic containers seem like they would be easier to use and I think they look nicer FWIW

My vote is for the plastic containers. I like how you will be able to see all the colors of the candy since they are clear. I also think they seem sturdier. Talking about candy has made me crave m&ms...mmmm!

How are the deli containers going to look though prior to your guest putting the candy inside. A big stack of deli containers and lids seems less sophisticated to me from a presentation stand point.

I think for presentation I was going to put the lids on them and maybe put them in baskets with directions of sorts....

I like the chinese takeout containers better.  I think the deli containers just look cheap.

I think the clear containers look better than the others. I think if you set it up nicely, as it seems you are, it will definitely come out great!

I see the pros of both containers, as others have mentioned. But I'm wondering, size wise, which will fit more candy?  This could be both a benefit for guests but a drawback in terms of $$$$ if the deli containers fit a lot more. I can't tell from the pics though. Also, if you have a lot of guests, I agree that the take-out boxes may be a nice presentation (either way, it sounds like you have a vision of what you want and it'll be awesome).

Can I make a suggestion....totally a suggestion and you don't need to use it.

We are also doing a candy buffet and my mom went to ocean state job lot and found glass jars in packages of 4 for $4.99.  They hold 8 oz maybe which seems like a good amount to me...not too much, but not too little.  We figured it would look better and guests could reuse these jars when the wedding is over.  And we figured if there are extras it's not a big deal (I could always use them in my classroom for something).  Instead of putting labels directly on the jars we are going to tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar with the guests name, table number, and meal choice on the back so they are doubling as our place cards.

I agree with this.  The Chinese takeout boxes have some style.

I personally think the takeout boxes would look better, although I do like that with the plastic containers, you can see the candy through them--and they're reusable. I think I've seen takeout boxes that are made of a frosty plastic...just a thought to get the best of both worlds, although they might cost more.

I also like the glass jar idea that PP mentioned--mason jars could be cute! (at least that's what I'm picturing)

Chinese take out boxes def have more class to it. The others kind of seem a little bit cheap to me. I do like the mason jar look though too. You can get the small ones pretty cheap online and tie A ribbon and would look amazing!

The ones I'm using are not mason jars but those would be cute.  Unfortunately I already have 200+ jars taking up my spare bedroom.  To see the ones I got go to www.oceanstatejoblot.com and click on the weekly flyer.  Go to page 7.  They are right under the aluminum pans and are the small 10oz ones right in front.

I would definitely do the Chinese takeout containers.  I feel like if I went to a wedding and got the plastic deli containers, I would think that they were just trying to cut costs and went with the cheapest thing possible.  I don't really like them at all.  I would stay away from the plastic containers and go with the takout containers or some kind of mason jars like others said.  You still want it to look nice.
