Does anyone know of a baker that is talented and affordable? I want a specialty cake for my groom, but I can't see paying over $400 for a small cake (that's essentially a square with very little detail). I know that's probably really reasonable for a "specialty" cake, but my budget has been blown (and I mean BLOWN) out of the water. I just can't see paying that much for a little cake.
Does anyone have a contact that can work with fondant and not charge a ton?? An at-home baker perhaps?
Am I cheap? Don't answer that - I'm feeling sensitive - especially since my wedding is in 8 days. I am so not like this normally. My non-bridal self is decisive and organized...
