Gift Baskets as Bridal Shower favors

Instead of handing out individual favors to each of my shower guests, I'm going to have baskets that they will be able to put a ticket in for.  They can receive tickets for winning a game, bringing a recipe, etc.  Has anyone done this before?

I need some basket ideas!!  How much do you think it appropriate to spend on each basket?  I'd like them to look nice, but my Mom feels I'm going overboard..

Ditto pp.. since this is your shower you don't need to be worrying about activities or favors or anything else that has to do with the planning of your shower. That's the beauty of a bridal shower, you get to sit back and enjoy it without being part of the planning. I'm very OCD so it was hard to not offer suggestions or help for my shower, but my mom and bridal party did a wonderful job and it was so nice that admist all the wedding planning that I was able to sit back and enjoy my shower without being a part of the planning. Nevermind the enjoyment of relaxing during your shower and not being a part of the planning/hosting, but it's very poor etiquette to plan or help throw a party that is in honor of yourself i.e. a bridal shower or bachelorette party. HTH!

It sounds like you want to turn the shower into some kind of competition.  If the person who hosts your party likes the gift basket idea then they should just give each person 1 ticket when they get there and hold a raffle.  People really shouldn't have to "earn" their favor.  But I agree with PP that food is really where the focus should be.

I kind of like the idea of everyone having one ticket and you can get another if you win one of the games :)

And I could answer your question...haha!

Go to Bath & Body Works on Black Friday or during one of their sales and pick up some stuff, there are always $1 lotions/hand sanitizers, even picking up little cute things at Dollar Tree work well. Find a few random fun things and make sure most of it doesn't have to do with weddings, just cute things your ladies will enjoy!
