haha I just got totally nervous for you. It's really going to depend on how fast things book up where you live. We wanted an April wedding, but by March of last year everywhere we looked was already booked.

I agree. It depends on where you live and what month and where you want to be. For us, we chose May (weather, location, cost) and venue availability dictated the date. We got engaged in August '11 and wanted to get married in May, so we began looking immediatly because we knew that where we wanted to be (Martha's Vineyard) would book quickly and prices rise exponentially during the summer. I started getting nervous as well when I read that haha! I would pick it right now. Don't wait, because my first choice was booked up 1.5 years in advance and we only had a 9 month engagement!

Yeah, I noticed you're Northeast Ohio as well, it depends on where you are looking. I booked mine about a year and a half in advance, especially because I had heard about things booking up so quickly. But honestly, in NEO, things don't book up quite as fast as everywhere else. Most brides around here are pretty conservative and traditional, so if you want to book like a church or a typical banquet hall, those will probably go pretty fast, but if you wanted to book somewhere different, like I'm having mine at a museum, most brides don't think of places like that. I would still recommend making that decision first. But when I booked mine, for Memorial Day weekend, probably the most popular weekend for a wedding, I was the only booking in 2012 when I decided back in January 2011 or whatever.
