Hello, ladies!
Recently, nails and manicures were brought to my attention by my future mother-in-law, a woman who always boasts big long falsies which she wears very well and elegantly. She asked me if I would do the same but I've declined that notion and have decided just to keep my nails looking healthy and strong at a manageable length--not too short nor uncomfortably long. Regardless of what I do, I will probably need some sort of manicure for the sake of the wedding band pictures.
Personally, I've always been a fan of vintage manicures... the ones with the beautiful half-moon cuticles, especially when the nail is painted red and the half-moon is either white or left unpainted. The striking contrast is divine! My mother (biological mother, to clarify), however, and many other women around me have advised against red nail polishes and even half-moons, preferring instead the standard French manicure, which is indeed beautiful but just not my style. Is it odd ,incorrect, or tasteless to wear a red nail polish and bare half-moons as a bride? I don't think so, personally, but I know many of my acquaintances will find it appalling.
What do you all think?
BTW, I was also considering a pastel lavender such as Essie's Main Squeeze, Lilacisim, or China Glaze's Princess Grace if red was going to cause too much of a conflict. I'm still doing half-moons no matter what though...
