Is your boss coming?

Is your boss coming to your wedding????

Re: Is your boss coming?

  • I invited him but he is out of town that weekend, I did invite some close coworkers to come after dinner for drinks. We are only having 80 for dinner and I didn't want to leave them out.

  • No clue!  My RSVP date is today and haven't heard.  I feel weird asking him too if he is coming or not  :/

  • my fiance has worked with his company for 13 years so we invited everyone to the wedding (his work group alone was 50 out of our 275 once we included spouses). Since our guest list was already higher than I originally wanted I decided to invite no one I worked with. Some people still make comments, but I didn't want to have to pick two or three and have more hurt feeling/ office drama to deal with.

  • my boss isnt coming - i see her everyday for the past 2 yrs almost and she's know about this wedding since day 1.... I'm quite pissed about it....
  • I am a teacher and did not invite my principal. I have only been at my school for a year, and I just invited the three people in my department and their families.
  • My boss and co-workers are coming (and even kind enough to help set up the reception site that morning) We have such a small office though that I couldn't imagine not inviting her.
  • I just started my job a month ago so no she is not. My old boss is though. But that is kind of a weird situation because she was actually also a sorority sister of mine, so I would have invited her anyways.
  • I didn't invite my boss the only co-workers I invited were 3 people that I socialize with outside of work.   Nobody on my team was invited.

  • I am a lawyer in a relatively small office. I invited all partners to the wedding and our office manager. All but one of them has responded and they are all coming.

  • I invited my boss and she did reply yes.  I only invited one other co-worker.  I work on a small team (3 of us under my boss), and the one I did not invite, I rarely work directly with and we were keeping it small, so I had to pick & choose.

I am flattered that she responded yes since our all employee event turned out to be the same night as my wedding, though I do feel a bit guilty as well as I only invited her & her husband, and the employee event is for kids too which she has.

  • Neither fiance nor I invited any co-workers.  I know he had debated inviting some, but since my job is to float around and help different departments I don't really get close to my co-workers.

  • I didn't invite mine LOL I'm not close enough to her to ask her. My FI invited his boss but he wont' be in town. *shrug* most of my family is coming in from out of town and that makes me immensely happy :D

  • My FI and I work at the same company, different departments, but we did invite all of our bosses (all brothers) but they will be out of town but would have come if they were not.  There are a lot of co workers that are coming though.  Hopefully we don't regret inviting them, there are some issues with a few of them.

  • No I didn't invite my boss. Not close enough and I only see her about 3-4 times a year. FI invited his boss though.

This is exactly what I did. My FI company has 80 people coming out of the 140 that confirmed yes. I didn't have room to invite anyone I worked with so I just didn't invite them. I have 2 people that I would have definitely invited but like you said, can't just invite 2. No one seems to care, or at least hasn't said anything to me. Plus I feel like I want to keep my work and personal life separate.

I invited my boss but I haven't heard back yet.  I don't think she will be coming though, since the wedding is across the country and it would be difficult for us both to be out of the office for extended periods of time.

  • We invited one of mine, but he can't.  We didn't invite my other boss, or his.
  • Invited everyone in FI's department and most accepted with their spouses and about half included their children on the RSVP cards. : )  Thankfully, he works in a small department!  His boss is invited, but he has been great to FI throughout everything he's gone through in the past year.  I invited a few people I felt closest to from work, but we've had such high turnover that none of them work there anymore!  For everyone still there, I went the "tacky" route, but the typical route for my agency--group invite to the party!
  • I invited my boss and shes coming.
