Hey! I hosted my best friends bachelorette at Foxwoods (NOt Mohegan so maybe this isn't super helpful but you seem open to both)

The rooms ended up all being booked except at the Two Trees inn (which some people at first complained about...since its a little more low end etc and you have to take a shuttle to foxwoods (the shuttle is literally 2 minutes)...

But actually, that worked out better. We rented a room with 2 double beds and a pull out-- and brought 2 blow up air mattresses. The whole party cost us around $70 pp. This included drinks to pregame with, entrance and a VIP table at Shrine (which included a bottle), and all the food and stuff we brought.

The room was really big and was big enough for all the girls to get ready. Then we set up the "living area" (which was a separate room with a door),...with food and drinks and games to "pregame"with.

We didn't end up doing dinner.  We had pickies and cake and cupcakes, and even finger sandwiches--so we saved $ on dinner.

We weren't originally going to get the table, but the guy gave us a discount since we called ahead, and though we didn't book it ahead of time, he remembered when I was telling him about our group at the door and still honored the price.

The table was sooo worth it.  I can't express this enough!! We didint have to fight to sit down or try to find a chair, and we even had a guy assigned to our table to open and close the rope when we wanted to get on the dance floor. Our waitress was great as well, and really accomodating.

It was so great to have a place to sit down..and when you figure you likely will spend $40 on drinks anyway- it was so worth it.

The room cost us $200, and we split it by 10 people so that was obvi a bargain.
It was obvi a pretty tight fit for sleeping --but it was fine for one night.

    The air mattresses were key.

Overall, everyone had a REALLY fun time. and I have to be honest some of my best friends cousins that came are def. pretty hoity toity and complained at first about the room, how it wasn't at foxwoods, and wasn't a "suite" and even they were saying how much fun they had in the end, and how nice everything was.

I also think it was nice to all be together before we went out- and spend some QT time,so it wasn't just a super drunk fest.

I also have done a girls weekend at MGM grand, which was really fun as well. The rooms there are nicer and spacious..and sometimes you can get a killer deal (just watch their website)

I highly suggest you do it. If she isn't into the "club"thing you can always organize a really nice dinner out at one of the great restaurants.

What is really nice is that everything is really self contained--- so you don't have to go far if you need an ATM or someone wants a coffee...or a drink.
I think that was the best part.

Once e were there, we parked, unloaded and we were good to go.

Like the poster above, Ive only been to Foxwoods so I can only vouch for that place. I havent been to Mohegan as there rooms are significantly more expensive than the ones at Foxwoods, at least in my experience. I went to Foxwoods with my girlfriends last year for my birthday and will most likely do that for my bachelorette party. We stayed at MGM and Ive also stayed at The Grand Pequot...both super nice and I think we got the rooms between 150-200/night for a weekend. You can get a discount if your a dream card member (which is free ti sign up for). We gambled for a little bit then went to Scorpion Bar and then Shrine. Super fun. MGM has also a really great spa that we went to as well. Also, with the addition of MGM to Foxwoods, they have added some really top-notch  steakhouses and restaurants. Either way you go, Mohegan or Foxwoods, it will be a good time!

I have stayed at both, but not for bachellorette parties.  I think they would both be a great time.  Mohegan I think has a much newer more modern look to it for hotels, but I think the clubs/ bars are comparable at both.  The major bonus to Foxwoods is price.  You can get a room at Foxwood for around $200 and the same room at Mohegan is usually DOUBLE!

I know when planning group events I try to get good deals because everyone can afford different things.  Either way I think you will have a great time!

I hosted a bachelorette party at Foxwoods.  Similar to i2012do, we had suites at Two Trees Inn which is perfect and cheap for everyone.  Easily fit 6-10 people in each suite room.  We had dinner at Hard Rock, they do a group meal option that is very reasonable and fun.  We went to Shrine as well and had a table, I can't go in that place without a table.  I know that sounds snobby but that place gets too crowded and is just not enjoyable if you don't have a private area, in my opinion.  Plus the cover there can be $20 on the weekend which is waived with a table, I would rather spend my money on alcohol.  For everything I think it ended up being $150/girl including hotel, dinner, drinks, and Shrine with drinks.

I do like the look of Mohegan better however the hotel room prices on-site are pricey.  I'm sure whatever you decide will be fun.

One other thing, I missed a bachelorette party to Mohegan but they stayed off site at the new hotel nearby (forget the name) which offered shuttle services to make it more affordable.  Everyone had a great time at that one as well!

Thank you all for the great advice. Foxwoods seems to more afforadable for my family. We may do a little gambling (slot machines), but the spa  is what we would really love. Also having a great dinner. I know they have many restaurants, so I will check them out on their websites. Feel free with any other advice!!!!

One piece of advice for the spa, go to the MGM one and not the one at Grand Pequot. I went to the spa at the Grand Pequot once for a pedicure, it was suppose to be some really good one since it cost $75 but it was awful. I could get a better pedi at home for like $25. The MGM spa is much nicer, maybe more pricey but its worth it rather than overpaying for mediocre services.

Another thing, I mentioned it before but sign up for a Dream Card, I think you can do it on their website and then pick it up there. If you have a dream card they give you discounts on the hotel rooms. Any little bit helps! : )

I am having my bachlorette party at Foxwoods we got a room for free at MGM grand with a BM's points on the Dreamcard.  I'm not sure what they have planned but I am thinking a nice dinner, I heard there were bowling allies and Shrine!
I have stayed at Mohegan many times too and I actually like it just as much.  My FI had hos bach. party there last weekend.  They ate at Michael Jordan steak house and gambled.  I guess they were not able to get into the night club though because it was full.  I think either place is great because no one needs to drive; everyhting is under one roof!

I went to one for my friend a few years ago at Mohegan and it was fun. They went to the spa during the day (I skipped this, as I had just gotten back from Alaska that day and needed a nap!) then we all went to Jasper White's Summer Shack, which was really good, then to an awesome martini bar and then to the club there. Then some did a little gambling and I headed back to Rhody. Some stayed overnight but I'm not sure which hotel. I do remember it was a bit pricey.

I was the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding and we did a Jack and Jill at Mohegan Sun in the summer of 2008. We stayed at the ?Minitel hotel with free shuttle to/from the casino so we didn't have to worry about a designated driver. We had dinner reservations at Jasper's Summer Shack. Then we played slots, went to the bars, did the club for a little while. Mohegan Sun is great because there are different things you can do all in one place. The last shuttle back to the hotel was a little early in our opinion (I think 12am) but you could always take a taxi back. We had such a great time that my matron of honor (the one I took to Mohegan Sun) is taking ME there for my bachelorette this coming August. Looking forward to it!
