Has anyone been to Jay West and found the customer service lacking? I was there last night with my mom and maid of honor, and the woman who helped us (Janet) was so incredibly rude, dismissive, and even argumentative, that I could hardly believe it!
For starters, she never asked me my budget, so when she put me in the first dress she pulled, and I looked at the price tag and saw it was about $500 more than I wanted to spend, she said, "Oh, did you have a price you want to keep it at?" Um, yeah, lady, I'm getting married during a recession on a teacher's salary; what do you think?!?! Then she said that all the dresses she had pulled were out of my budget, and she brought out a sample dress (which turned out to be the exact same dress in a pic I had brought in from JW's fb page -- & had I never told her my budget, I never would have been shown that dress). The dress looked great, but it was strapless and I wanted to see it with straps on it. She made a big production of looking for the straps, found the straps that went with the dress, and then put them on incorrectly. When I pointed out that they looked crooked, she argued with me and made me feel stupid. Then when I was taking the dress off, she said, "Oh yeah, I hooked the straps in the wrong place"!!!!
Honestly, I loved the dress, but this woman ruined the experience for me. It was my first time trying on wedding dress, and she made me feel like I was hassling her. And I was the only person in the shop and had made an appointment, so it wasn't like they were busy. I put the dress on hold and have to make a decision about getting it by tomorrow night. I love the dress and can't find it anywhere else (I think it's actually a discontinued dress), but I was so disgusted with the customer service that I almost don't want to give them my business.
I'm just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences. My maid of honor got her wedding dress there three years ago, and her experience was fine then. And most of the reviews I saw online were positive. Did I just get unlucky?
