Boston - St Ignatius and The Taj

Has anyone gotten married at St Ignatius church and/or held reception at the Taj Hotel in Boston? If so, how did it go? Planning a May 2012 wedding - need all the advice I can get - flowers, transportation, hair/make up etc..

    I don't have any experience with your church or reception venues, but I would highly recommend my florist and hair/makeup folks. (I'm no help with transportation since we didn't need it.)

    http://www.specialeventbeauty.com/ - I worked with them for my rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. The team does great work and they are all really nice women.

    I'm getting married this June at St. Ignatius so I can tell you after that :) So far Betty the receptionist has been nice to work with. We are using our own priest from Miami. Timothy the organ player has also been very nice to work with so far. I know someone else who got married there and was very happy overall with her experience. The only thing I don't like so far is that we only have the church for 2 hours, so if you have a full mass, which could run an hour, you only get the church for half an hour before and after, which could make things tight.

    I'm getting married at St. Ignatius in August this year, and so far they have been great with the planning process. You are required to bring in your own preist. They had a wedding music concert my fiance and I attended back in November that was really well organized and it was great to hear the music before our big day. The music director, Timothy Zimmerman has been very responsive through email setting the musicians up, too. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    As for the other vendors, like JB, I'm also using The Tangled Web and Special Events Beauty - my hair/makeup trial is Sunday!

    I didn't get married at St. Ignatius, but I went to BC and you just need to be careful of which weekend in May because of graduation and all of the festivities that go along with that.

    Exactly what I was going to say. Between graduation and class reunions, you'd want to really be very careful. But the church is beautiful.

    Both our photographer and DJ had talked about a Taj wedding they had recently done. I am not sure if there are pictures on our dj's page but I know our photographer has them up if you look it up on her companys blog. Heatherparker.com/blog I think it is but you can definitly get to it from the main page.
