  • That REALLY sucks having to change everything last-minute.

    I'm also a July 21st bride, so it's a good pick!  :)

  • July 21st is a good pick!!! Sorry, the date had to change!! I live in an area with an airforce base and we hear a lot about people leaving and going...but lately we've heard a lot of military men & women coming home!
  • Stupid TK ate my post!

I am sorry this has happened to you.  It is hard being a military bride. Just try and stay positive and know he will be home safe soon!

    Goodluck!

I did! I changed my date due to military issues too. I changed my date from may 5th to July 28. I can't imagine having to change it the day before though.
  • I'm so sorry to hear this got changed at the last minute.  I could not imagine that happening to me, and thankfully haven't had to change my date.

  • Thanks ladies. the hardest part is everyone asking how the wedding went when i got back to work after the weekend. Its such a hard thing to explain lol!
  • I can't imagine changing dates the day before the wedding!  I bet you're ready for your FI to be home!
  • Sorry you had to change your date. We share the same date now. July 21st seems to be really popular. I might have been a date changer had we known months ago that my brother was being deployed. I would've either moved the date up or pushed it out until next Summer.

  • Oh my goodness. Well, at least you were able to find another date! That truly sucks, though. :(

    Welcome!!

Sorry to hear about the date ordeal. My brother is in the military and things get changed all the time for him too. I can't imagine finding out at your rehearsal though!

  • I'm so sorry! That must have been so hard, and upsetting. But I'm glad you were able to find a new date, not too far off!

I did change my date from August to July, but it was back in February, so I had plenty of time to adjust. It was also by choice...two of my bridesmaids announced that they were pregnant and due within a few days of our original date, so I decided to push it up.

  • Oh that's so frustrating/upsetting to have to change it so quickly!  And I think explaining it to co-workers would be the worst!

One of my best friends was deployed and his FI was trying to plan their wedding without knowing exactly when he'd be back.  They ended up changing the date at least twice, not even close to that last min though.

Good luck with the new plans!  I'm sure everything will be a hit still!

Sorry you went through this! We had to change out date, but only by 2 weeks because of FI's work refusing the let him take time off for our original date. Not a big deal though because our invitations were ordered but they hadn't actually been printed yet.

Did you have a lot of OOT guests? And were you able to re-book your same vendors?

  • The hall isnt available, so we are currently searching for a different one. The caterer is holding our money and being very understanding..they say they will be able to cater the wedding any day we need. We didnt have alot of OOT guests but we still had to call over 100 people to let them know :( this is just a mess!
