Party With A Wedding...

My fiance and I are looking to do something simple for our wedding. It will be my 2nd marriage, his 1st. We recently bought land in Tennessee and wanted to have everything take place there. We are simple people and dont need a big fancy wedding. I have more family and friends to invite than he does. My question is, with it being my 2nd (and last!) time around, do you think that more people from my family would be more inclined to show up if they knew it was more casual to where I wouldn't expect gifts from them this time around?

    call it a marriage celebration, putting down roots or tying the knot party...and just simply state you would love their company on your new place to celebrate your new life together...

    I think it sounds like a great idea.   Like others said, just make sure the invite is casual looking, and maybe just very simply tell your parents and close friends your plans for it to be a casual party, nothing big.
