Dress Regrets (help)....Anyone else?

I know I have seen others post that they are unsure at times about their dress. I usually tell them to not look anymore and that we all experience it. Well, I've had doubts on and off but lately they are just so much more. At what point is it past doubts and truly you might venture to look again?

I just feel that my dress is so big at the bottom. I love the top half and I don't mind the bottom. It has a larger train that I wanted, I feel like from the side it is just so much material. I don't want it skin tight but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a tent or something. I originally didn't want a train at all. I'm wondering if it is something that can be address with alterations but I don't know. I need to figure it out soon. Ahh.

End crazy rambling.

Re: Dress Regrets (help)....Anyone else?

  • I think with alterations they could take out some of the under skirt so its not so "puffy" in the skirt. I would consult the alterations people and see what they can do. Probably cheaper then buying another dress.
  • I was thinking that you could take some of the under skirt out too. I did have dress regret though. I saw another one on David's bridal and could not stop thinking about it. I told FI what was going on and he told me that if I wanted to try it on it would be fine with him. I ended up trying it on an taking it home with me that day.

  • Can we see pictures? Ditto PP who suggested removing a layer of crinoline.

  • I agree with PPs that alterations might help make it fit like a glove and not seem like so much fabric.

  • They might be able to cut some of the train down in addition to removing some of the crinoline. Worth asking at least. I think if that's the only concern you have, see what alterations can do first, then if you're still not loving it, make the decision to look again.
  • definitely talk to the person doing alterations.  From watching so many 'SYTTD''s I know they can do something.

    Breathe!!  It'll be OK!

<div>I agree with this. I've seen this done a ton of times on SYTTD to make brides more comfortable with the dress. Also, if you don't want the train any longer, perhaps you could just have it bustled the entire time. </div>

  • Oh man!! No dress regrets!!! Like BritRN said, post a pic and I will give you an honest opinion too. I would definitely talk to the seamstress or alterations person to see what they can do first. If you are still unhappy, it might be about that time to start looking. Sorry lady!!

  • I think I'm definitely going to see about alterations and go from there. I can't post a pic right now since I'm on my phone. I think part of it is just me being crazy.

I must stop looking at other brides' dresses!

I love my dress, but I keep seeing other dresses that are just as beautiful!   lol

Time to try my dress on again, to see WHY this is the one I chose!
